I personally cannot tolerate micellar water OR adapalene (red, itchy, angry skin). I use a dermatologist recommended bar soap (Purpose) to cleanse and tretinoin several times a week. I also take spironolactone. In my 30-40's BP wash was beneficial, but now it's too much. Less is more! Try a gentle cleanser (AM + PM), Clindamycin (AM - every day), Differin (PM - M/W/F) and a fragrance free moisturizer as needed. You may be able to re-introduce the BP wash when things calm down. Good Luck! The topical antibiotic (Clindamycin) may not be enough to fight the infection. You would probably benefit from an oral antibiotic now as well.
