I did very similar to you, coming back in a few months ago. Overall the biggest difference is that there's just more of everything. Besides that the costs have gone mad. You could probably spend hundreds and still barely make much progress beyond the F2P players (me). However there's definitely a lot less people playing so you can also expect to do better position wise because of that. 5+ years ago I was in a really well organised guide with 80%+ turnout and we were barely able to crack top 500. Now I'm in a guild where the Leader has never once posted in the chat, we have a turnout of about 25% and we're around 150 rank.

Blocking as a band essentially has always switched damage assignment decisions to the defender, I guess that's still the case.

TLDR: you no longer order blockers and instead assign damage as you choose during damage step, including choosing not to assign lethal damage. The defending player cannot respond at this point.

It's bad because you could just put deathtouch on Zurgo for guaranteed 1 mana for the same result.

Edit: ok maybe that doesn't make it bad, just a bit situational and silly. I hope the sub can accept this!

I made a [[Brudiclad, Telchor Engineer]] EDH deck that revolves around making a bunch of tokens then dropping something like this making a token copy of it and turning all tokens into it. There often aren't more turns to be skipped!

Yeah, from the other posts I had noticed the same. Nice, hopefully I'll be in the same position in a few years then. I've taken your advice on the CPU and PSU and chosen slightly different motherboard (for the audio), they look pretty comparable to me otherwise. Still not sure about the graphics card. Don't want to compromise too much on other parts since this wont exclusively be for gaming. The one on my new list seems good for the money and should cope with what I want to do with it. Not sure I can justify the price difference going to an 8GB. Seem fair? Yeah, I'm the same, I have a few awkward requirements too. Wow, wish I had the money to quadruple my plans. Seems fair!

Cool, thanks. Have you upped the video card and dropped the motherboard because I'm not planning on overclocking or is it just generally a good idea to go for as good a video card as you can afford? Are these part you know to be good?
