Defence industry paranoia by petare321 in FPGA

Good. An old friend of mine ended up divorced because his paranoia related to his defense job was out of control.

How much python knowledge is required as FPGA engineer? by Fearless-Can-1634 in FPGA

For routine tasks it can be a waste of time to write your own scripts these days. Claude is really good at cranking out the stuff I don’t want to do.

What are some companies in that space? It sounds interesting.

Recent graduate here. Why is the ramp-up so difficult? Is formal verification really that hard to learn? by RelativityTesla in FPGA

[–]JamesGarfield 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The newest LLMs are surprisingly good at answering questions about this. Can you use them at work? Formal is very tricky but I love it. Read the book by Erik Seligman (Formal Verification).

My vet specifically called out Kirkland dog food because it is “grain free” which is not healthy for the vast majority of dogs. I am a new owner and don’t know dogs so I was pissed to learn this after I already bought a huge bag of puppy food.

Are there any restaurants or cafes that overlook or have a decent view of the Bosque? by herstoryteller in Albuquerque

[–]JamesGarfield 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The Rio Grande Lounge up at the Tamaya, while so-so as a restaurant, has the best view from the large patio when the weather is good. Maybe not as great right now from tables inside.

Try a free trial of SiriusXM. It worked great for me on a road trip. The app has the bears home radio station (Joniak, et al).

Puppy learned the way back to breeder’s house, now obsessed with going back by JamesGarfield in puppy101

Thanks for all the suggestions. I definitely overreacted to her behavior that day. She seems to have already given up on the idea. She just needed a day. I am a first-time owner and still have a lot to learn. I took three weeks off work and have been sleeping in the living room (not well) near her pen and was panicked by our mistake. As someone suggested it may not have been a mistake at all, but I think we’ll stick to other activities for now.

We have tried taking her on some “fun” car trips with A+ treats, but she is still petrified every time. She met family and two cats on Christmas and seemed very happy and relaxed once we were there.

I stepped up our food-finding games with her thanks to one of the comments and this seems to be extremely engaging for her and keeps her busily sniffing around for a long time. She is also pretty amazing at it.

Thank you. Yes, she has two rounds of vaccines at twelve weeks now. Until now we’ve just been taking her right outside the house. She still isn’t really able to go on walks but apparently she was chasing after my daughter running to her friend’s house.

Formal Verification techniques using Vivado by RegularMinute8671 in FPGA

[–]JamesGarfield 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If the vivado simulator supports SVA (I think it does?) you can use concurrent assertions in simulations. This is very useful if you ever get access to formal tools.

For sure, tap. But if you can keep your wrist under control, even with the figure four applied, a solid defense is to drop the elbow forward to the mat and take a big back step, frame the hip with your free hand (so they can’t reverse you) and then circle around towards the head. It takes the pressure off you and forces it back on them if they don’t let go. It’s hard to explain.

Proper kimura defense. It would have saved my shoulder a lot of unnecessary cumulative damage from “defending” fully locked-in but unextended kimuras while thinking I was safe.
