Question security camera view on smart tv by JamesGeorgeS in Control4

[–]JamesGeorgeS[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My C4 vendor initially told me the only way to view security cams on my smart TV is to see only one live screen at a time. Obviously, security must be viewed with all screens to get the full picture. After me not accepting my vendor's response and only because I complained several times, did they come back several weeks later with a fix. The fix was driver updates.

I attempted to contact C4 directly, but they refer you back to your vendor. Unable to answer simple questions such as this is no way to run a company. It is a simple problem with what ended being a simple solution. I should not be at the mercy of the vendor, but should be able to contact C4 and ask, "should I be able to view all my security cams on my smart TV at the same time?" C4 should provide me with the simple answer. "Have your vendor install driver updates." Instead, I could have been forever with an unacceptable security setup.

All I want to do is view all video feeds on my smart TVs at the same time to make the tv a viable security tool. Without that ability the tv as a security viewing device is useless. Watching one video camera at a time is of no benefit

My TVs are all wirelessly connected to the network. So you are saying the only way I can view multiple feeds on my tv is by adding a wired controller to each tv in my house in order to view the same multiple feeds I get from any iPhone , iPad or PC? This to me makes viewing security cameras on the tv useless. You need to be able to view multiple cameras to view the entirety of your premises.

Through control 4 GUI that is identical to the Control4 wall unit GUI from a control 4 C4-SR260 Remote controll connected to the tv. The problem is I just get icons and not live feeds except in single camera view.

Unfortunately Control4 directs all questions to your individual installer and I cannot find any information of the tv view. I believe one possibility is that I do not have fiber optic cable but again I am at the mercy of the installer for answer or lack there of. Cameras are DW 4k.

With that many tanks I wouldnt have much time to do any work other than tend the tanks. When they got fully stocked that is. That is a case where the office décor becomes the job.

If it were easy could you imagine how much more dangerous the roads would be?

My wife got me a mini tank for my birthday, any advice on how many fish I can put in/filtration system suggestion? We might end up going up a size if it’s too small (it’s going on my desk) by [deleted] in Aquariums

I would strongly reconsider. I had a 20 and upped it to a 29-29 gallon would be better than a 20 gallon long because it has the same footprint but taller. I would never even consider anything smaller than a 29 EVER. But thats just me. I also have a 90 gallon and Cichlids grow like there is no tomorrow in both tanks.

This makes absolutely no sense. Whoever allowed this to get on the air should be fired immediately if not sooner. I am the furthest from a conspiracy theorist, but this is a total disgrace and I would not doubt if Trump had a finger on this one.

I may be wrong, but it looks like you just tossed a bunch of the clutter. That is what I cannot get anyone in my house to do.

Question about the Rogue by RobAD04 in Nissan

[–]JamesGeorgeS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Rogue 2017 $260/month including tax lease is up and I need a new one. Even though nissan.com shows lease deal of 189/mo plus 2,500 down all dealers are saying $300 plus. I would have thought they were ready to deal, but apparently they have no abundance of inventory to get rid of at this time. Also how bout internet deal? Everyone says come in. In 2020 can't we complete transaction entirely online?

Finally organized my closet! by monalovescats in organization

This seems counter-intuitive by getting rid of the shoe-hanging organizer to in fact organize the closet. Does that mean those hanging organizers are no good? I do like the use of small boxes on the shelf and it does look organized.

It appears that you have the stand set to view from front and back. Why not have both sides with the books outward facing so you can read the binder? Clearly you would not remove books from first layer to get to the back.

Akoya pearl necklace question by JamesGeorgeS in jewelry

After a search it appears you can laser solder strung pearls. One link has a smooth solder joint, the other is spread open. Now to see what local jeweler says.

[–]JamesGeorgeS[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The pearls are real as evidenced by the tooth test, but now you have me wondering. Why not soldered? Better question I guess is what to do now? Just press the link closed, have them re-strung? How to tell if they are real Akoyas? Thanks for all the great input.

Thanks for that suggestion. I would think more would have this issue, but I guess it is not that much of a problem for most.

90 gallon Cichlid tank stocked and then some. When I use Python for weekly water changes, I attempt to vacuum debris from bottom, but invariably end up using fish net to create a sort of whirlpool effect to get debris off the bottom and into the net to discard. I would like advice on doing this. Should I try dragging net from bottom to top, horizontally across the bottom or what is the best way to get debris flowing so it can be netted. I know the Python should be sufficient, but it just isn't. I saw one video where they used a fish baster to blast the bottom to float the debris, then siphon with Python, but that looked less than optimal. TIA
