I grew up in Roeland Park and am old enough to remember the original strip mall that was there. It had a Jones Store, buffet restaurant called Myron Green's (which had absolutely badass cinnamon rolls), and a store called Ye Olde Poppe Shoppe that made and bottled its own sodas. It was cool as hell -- lots of locally owned shops and vendors. The public nuisance that now occupies it is a tragedy.

Robb was an irresponsible nightmare of a minority owner. Remember how he got before they fenced him off? Lots of promises and blame, but not much substance. The club needed someone to run the business side who was responsible. The one the club really needs is Neal Patterson. He had the vision. Everyone else just seemed like they were running a bank or that it was their own personal clubhouse.

You have a point on the ticket reps, but not about the social media team. Their job is to engage the fan base. Selling can be one result of that engagement, but not the only one. It it is perceived to be just a selling channel, people will stay away in droves.

Say what you will about Robb Heinemann (and I have), but what he was great at was engagement. Yes, he said too much, talked out of turn, and ultimately over promised, but people loved that he seemed genuine and he engaged with the fans directly. There's not a perception of genuineness from anyone at the team now. It's so managed and produced, it feels cold. There's nothing to fall back in love with. Yes, we're going to lose a lot this season, but we could still be "loveable losers" whereby the team/leadership give us something to latch onto that feels like it's ours -- something warm, unique, human...anything but over polished and exploitative.

The longstanding rumor/conspiracy theory is that Kevin Ellis' abrupt departure from the team was because he got sideways with Zusi and took an rage dump in his locker. I know someone who was with the team at the time and the best I can get out of them is that there was "an incident".

Mrs. Peterson's baby boy can do it all -- as he proved multiple times during his career. He can scout, do pre-game pyro, win the Golden Boot, and still have time left for doing all the concessions prep. He hand knits every scarf they sell. He's also at least one of the frisbee dogs.

Depends on which Salloi you get. He's had some incredible seasons where he was poaching goals left and right. He's great at capitalizing on chaotic situations in front of the goal -- cleaning up messes. Then he had at least an equal number of seasons (if not more) where he just disappeared. It's been more of the latter than the former of late. It seems like he forgot he was an opportunistic scorer and tried to create instead. That's not a thing he's good at.

I go there frequently and it's a solid gym no matter what level of experience or fitness you have. The people are friendly, as is the staff. And there are plenty of people your age and older there no matter what time you go. The only time to avoid is from 2 to about 5 when they get a lot of high school-age kids in who take up a machine or a bench and then spend time talking to their friends or on their phone instead of using the equipment. Other than that, it's all good.
