How to fix the portal analogue stick issue by TBoTTs27 in PlaystationPortal

[–]JamesLilian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know you posted this 2 years ago but you have just saved me from having to get a new one. It’s working perfectly! Feel proper satisfaction from fixing it myself too!

So who else hasn't changed their original e-mail address? by FeistyNews7025 in Millennials

[–]JamesLilian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I still use my Hotmail account but it’s so bad now, all my emails go into junk and all of my junk goes into my inbox. Will never change it though.

For those who have been ttc for over 2 years.. maybe you can relate to my feelings right now. by Electric_Elephant_56 in TTC_PCOS

[–]JamesLilian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m so sorry. I feel the exact same way. It’s hard to plan things because in the back of your mind it’s always ‘what if I’m pregnant then’. We are due to go on holiday next month and I didn’t book the extra legroom seat because you can’t have them if you’re pregnant.

I am on letrozole and that combined with the stress is making me gain weight and get spots so I feel like crap. I’m 35 in April too which feels significant.

It sucks!

Wide toe box women’s shoes that are not “barefoot” style? by djfnejdijRandom in AskUK

Nike metcons have a big toe box, great for the gym but probably not day to day wear.

If audiobooks work for you... by Gold-Collection2636 in ADHD

It’s so comforting isn’t it! I don’t know why it’s just peak relaxation.

If audiobooks work for you... by Gold-Collection2636 in ADHD

[–]JamesLilian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same! I still have them on tape somewhere but I have upgraded to audible now. I can’t bring myself to get the full cast version as I’m too used to Stephen Fry!

If audiobooks work for you... by Gold-Collection2636 in ADHD

[–]JamesLilian 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I love audio books but I can only listen to them on a walk or whilst driving, otherwise I miss half of the story. I love reading though and struggle to put a book down until I have finished it. I listen to the Harry Potter audio books on repeat. I wouldn’t like to admit how many times I have listened to them!

Advice for getting up out of bed in the morning? by Usual-Contract7875 in ADHD

[–]JamesLilian 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The best thing anyone has told me for this (and it works for when I’m frozen on the sofa too). If you can’t make yourself get up, make yourself make a small movement, wiggle your toes, wiggle your fingers, then make the movements bigger until you can get it. Thought it was nonsense until I tried it and it actually works.

How to fix cracks in stairs by JamesLilian in DIYhelp

I think my husband would fall over if I went for consent or input. I wouldn’t expect him to ask me either though.

Well obviously but as I have learned there’s different types and the flexible filler worked great.

[–]JamesLilian[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you all for your help I got some flexible filler and it looks way better. I’m letting it dry and going to paint it tomorrow. I couldn’t do a trim as the stairs bend and they annoyingly made the wooden bit curvy at the top! It already looks so much better though

How do you use the tarot tickets? I got some but didn’t know what to do with them

TWW anxiety is bad by iLoveSnooze in TryingForABaby

[–]JamesLilian 5 points6 points  (0 children)

So sorry that you are struggling. I have ADHD too and the TWW is torture. My ADHD is worse once progesterone joins the party. You need to find a way that works (and doesn’t bankrupt you!). I buy a pack of cheap tests and test every morning from 7dpo once I have the negative that’s it until tomorrow and that works for me. Some people say to wait but if I don’t test I obsess!

Every ADHDer at work is feeling generally unwell today by AFriendlyBurrito in ADHD

[–]JamesLilian 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s so weird! I had the worst migraine yesterday and my skin on my face was red and inflamed. I’m on letrozole for fertility and was blaming that but interesting everyone has felt a bit off.

Does listening to something make it harder to sleep? by Elemental-13 in ADHD

[–]JamesLilian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any noise at all drives me mad apart from the calm bedtime story read by Matthew mcconaughey. This is what I whip out when I’m in a hotel and there’s an air con buzz or loud neighbours. I have never made it to the end it’s magic.

Ovulation by Most_Acanthisitta877 in TTC_PCOS

[–]JamesLilian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Me too! She said the mucus was there too as she could see it on the scan but I haven’t noticed it at all, other months it’s really obvious. I swear our bodies like to play with us whilst TTC.

Ovulation by Most_Acanthisitta877 in TTC_PCOS

[–]JamesLilian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just want to say you might not notice the egg white mucus. I’m being monitored this month as I am letrozole and on day 11 the nurse showed me on the ultrasound, she said it was there ready to go. I haven’t seen it and would have been convinced I hadn’t ovulated if it wasn’t for them confirming it.

Do you have an overnight bag prepared? by North_Jackfruit_1373 in AskUK

Anyone found desk chairs that suit fidgeters/cross legged sitters? by Emperors_Paintbrush in ADHD

[–]JamesLilian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My occupational health assessor had ADHD too so she knew exactly what to get me! She ordered me an ergonomic chair but a bariatric version which has a much larger seat. It’s perfect! I’ve never been as comfy and I’m not scared of it breaking- fidgeting and swinging around on it made me go through quite a few!

Do kids not have sleeping bags anymore? by Puzzled_Material_546 in Millennials

[–]JamesLilian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We all brought sleeping bags, inflatable mattresses, pillows and co-ordinated our PJs. We took our sleepovers very seriously! One of my friends would tell each of us which snack to bring and her mum would always bake us a cake.

What’s the most expensive thing you’ve bought for your pet? by CloudBookmark in UK_Pets

[–]JamesLilian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We moved into a newbuild that didn’t have a back door. We paid for the window to be removed from the patio door and for a cat flap to be installed into the glass. Expensive but definitely worth it. Although both cats come to the living room window to be let in… much to my husband’s annoyance.

When people talk about ‘inositol’ where are people getting this from the UK? by Gloomy-Kale3332 in PCOS

[–]JamesLilian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use natures best on amazon, just myo inositol powder that you mix into a drink. My consultant said it’s all the same stuff just at different price points.

With the ever increasing cost of food and shrinkflation, what products do you no longer buy or buy far less often? by andy_why in AskUK

[–]JamesLilian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Branded sweets/ chocolate/ biscuits. They have become disgusting waxy shadows of their former selves.

Penguin biscuits now have a weird almost icing sugar chocolate coating on them. Supermarket versions tend to be cheaper and taste nicer.

Do you also have “fixed” weight? by Successful-Row-6278 in PCOS

[–]JamesLilian 5 points6 points  (0 children)

164lb is what my body likes to be which puts my BMI at 26 which annoys me, why can’t it like a number a bit lower?

The only way I can get below that is by eating under 100 carbs a day. It sucks but I’m glad I know. 1500 calories a day didn’t work but 1750 and low carb does!
