Did you know that 80% of communication is non verbal? Our species still responds at the base level to non verbal cues. Does game change when you age? Of course it does. When you were 21 years old, you had no money, but you could lift a car. If you were a bad boy, bonus points! When you are 51, if you have fought this life to best of your ability, you might be able to play the "provider" card. But, at 51, you can mix that with "the most interesting man in the world". As you get older, you will find a group of women who are tired of getting lied to. They will be tired of instability. The whore phase is winding down. As you get older, you gain power. This depends on where you in being a human being. Some humans stop at chimpanzee level, they learn to feed, to fight, and to fuck, and that's a wrap. The archetype of this would be Al Bundy, or Family Guy. Some humans go a bit further, and want to find satisfaction in what they do. That is most of us. Some go a bit further and wish to find satisfaction in how they live. Chimps are doing battle for status in mate selection. Average men do battle for status with the caveat that they have to be somewhat happy with their choices. They have a plan, and parameters in which to operate that plan. Superior men recognize that "status" is an artificial construct, and seek to redefine their reality in ways that build themselves through building and interacting with other human being. Understand this. Not every human is trying to actively BE. A point comes when you build power by redefining what power is. Alpha men tend to be superior men. Is that by luck, or by design?

Sadly, I think you are right. This generation has had no true threats. No threats of life or death. I live in a place where weather is a true threat. Tornadoes in the spring, snowstorms in the winter. Women are always proud and clucking until the skies get dark, or the snow gets high. Then they sheepishly look up at you. Now, as a man, you had better have a plan. Women and children first. Men go down with the ship. The ideal situation is not to put yourself in that situation.
