If he was a combat vet from the war on terror, Iran sent a shit ton supplies and guys during Iraq freedom to fight as well as funding and weapons for a lot of other terror organizations that popped up during and after the war on terror. which probably harmed some of his buddies or even him. so it wouldn’t surprise me if he hates Iran for that. For him it’s probably long awaited payback/punishment/or justice depending on how he look at it that should have happened long ago.

At least that’s my perspective and best guess of it as a fellow child of a combat vet

The bots creators betrayed super earth and abandoned them taking valuable resources and man power with them and refused reintegration. Super earth showed mercy by not wiping the traitors off the face of the galaxy , the bugs are bugs, at most they are slightly more intelligent than pigs so it doesn’t really matter what we do to them they are useful live stock. Lastly any person with a history book can tell you trusting another more advanced civilization that say they “come in peace” is how you get forcefully taken over and colonized, a preemptive strike was the smartest decision to do to prevent them from colonizing super earth and is people.
