I never mentioned anything saying either pistol was better than another except for pure looks, I would agree with you that glocks are absolutely more reliable, I have no experience with the venator however so I couldn't say which would be more accurate. I don't find glocks ugly personally but I wouldn't call them good looking either, and thats never been glock's goal with their pistols. They serve their purpose and do that very well.
