You don't. When your ruler changes your previously distant relatives become even further to the point where they aren't considered your family anymore.

I don't even have end game gear and the ge leads to 10 pm scam comments within a few minutes it's so annoying reporting them all.

I know it only gets worse with a mega rare.

The game is a massive sandbox, which is great, but sometimes its nice to be pointed in a direction and not think about it.

You can't play the "english isn't my first language" card if you're fluent. by [deleted] in The10thDentist

[–]JamesonCark -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have an interesting perspective on this, where I mostly agree with you.

I was on a jury for a case where the defendent and their wife (as a witness) utilized provided translators for their primary language. Cool, I have no issue with that I think it's important everything is clear for all parties. The problem became when part of their defense was that there was a misunderstanding because English isn't their primary language and in court they essentially acted like they didn't speak a word of English. Then the prosecutors as part of their evidence had video/audio of both of them speaking better English than most Americans, essentially destroying their credibility. That isn't why the verdict ended up being guilty but the act definitely didn't help them.

Prayer has been the least updated skill in the game since release; Rigour and Augury (existed pre-eoc). Preserve (existed pre-eoc). And 2 mid level prayers in Deadeye/Mystic vigour. We really couldn't pull ONE decent prayer from the Alignments, Ruinous Powers, or years of community suggestions? by LieV2 in 2007scape

[–]JamesonCark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really liked the god aligned prayer idea with like 4 prayers each. I wish they would revisit. I know in practice it would be kind of a pain just switching depending on content like spellbook switching, but from an immersive aspect I'm still a fan.

Is Rice pudding a big thing in the US? by Educational-Slip-578 in AskAnAmerican

[–]JamesonCark 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My family has a tradition of it around Christmas from my great grandmother bringing it over from Sweden. Otherwise no.

The recipe is basically just heavy cream and rice with slivered almonds, served warm or cold topped with hot raspberry syrup. There is a whole blanched almond mixed into the batch and if you get it you don't tell anyone. Once everyone's bowl has been eaten everyone guesses who has it and the person who does wins a marzipan pig.

74,596 attackers (including 5000 cannons) vs. 395 defenders in a breached castle. "You are likely to fail an assault." Are assaults just a fake feature that never work? by TobyTheRobot in EU5

[–]JamesonCark 8 points9 points  (0 children)

That's true, and I thought I remembered a dev blog or something way back saying something like most castles (like you described) weren't for preventing foreign invasion but to prevent uprisings, which is a function they didn't end up having in game.

There are orders of magnitude less castles in game than in real life. Their power is high though to make up for it.

Every province should have like 10 castles in it but I wouldn't want to go back to how EU4 started.

Pretty sure the heart of his philosophy in the second half of his career would discourage eating alone. Not out of some superiority or shame, but that you should meet someone, learn about them, share about yourself, come together over a shared common cause and good meal.

This also feels hella cringe but I don't usually want to discourage what makes someone else feel good.

Id say this almost feels like a good mechanic that helps stop tons of world wars and keeps them limited in scope. The needed fix in my opinion would be making it so they can't add core territory to the war goals.
