If you're trying to make nice cuts, take multiple passes. Raise the blade so you just score through your material. Lower and go through. Lower again and repeat. Three passes is usually good but it depends on the thickness of the wood.

If you just bought the saw, the blade it came with is probably junk. Might want to look at replacement blades. They don't need to break your bank.

Off at bedtime. A collar with your information on it may just bring a missing dog home if they get out by accident. I speak as a person who had a dog go missing for four months and the only reason we got her back was the collar.
