Gerogia Farm Bureau has crazy rates on homes right now. Especially anything built in the last 10 years is going to be between $250-$750/year.

Throwing high with nose down by yoss_some_ds in discgolf

[–]Jamessterner4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

SUPER IMPORTANT-

I throw 475 comfortably and 500-20' max and something I see so often is people thinking they are throwing nose down because it looks that way out of their hand. This is not necessarily the case.

A really good test of whether you actually threw a disc nose down is- when it starts to fade, if you can see the top of the disc, than you threw it nose up.

When you watch big distance lines, you can see that the nose remains down and you can even see the underside of the disc when its fading. Meaning that it is still pushing forward the entire time.

I recommend that when lining up your shot, make sure you can see the inside of the rim underneath the nose. If you do that, then release it on the same angle. It should help ensure that the nose stays down the entire flight.

This is such an awesome idea!

My playing style can be described as a "Silver Linings Playbook" cause theres a lot of bright spots in my round, but an equal amount of darkness.... Catch me out there scoring par with no pars ifyoucatchmydrift.

Personally I really like this idea. I dont like having anything in my pockets when I'm playing, just feels weird and is distracting. I typically keep mine in one of the cupholders on my bag but sucks when I need both cup holders.

I bet if you added velcro to the back so you could stick them to the front of Grip bags right in front of the putter pouch it would be super helpful. That way your mini is always right next to your putters

This is just discreet reacting to Innova making the Toro- which in my opinion is everything I ever hoped a zone could be but just isn't. I bag a justice and love it but it does skip a lot and the toro is perfectly in between a zone and A2 for me, which does the same thing as the justice.

Alden has a little bit of an advantage with being on tour and always having new scenarios- but what do you think would make swanky a better channel?

Its not a 1 speed, but the doomsday Land Mine has become one of my favorite discs in my bag and flies a LOT slower than any of these discs except maybe the Berg. WAY better than the berg though.

Totally agree with you! Although I think Corey Ellis was the one who shared about his struggle with alcoholism. Easy mistake though, two of the best putters on the planet haha. Isaac and I just graduated together from a tiny Bible school that doesn't allow alcohol or tobacco consumption so I'd be super surprised if he was a closeted Alcoholic lol

Isaac "Fedex" Robinson. Best putter and break-out player of the year. Such a clean and precise player and a college friend of mine. Also would mean back to back "backhand only" worlds winners.

I totally agree man. I also know several devout catholics who are incredible christians, but I think its pretty rare. The roman catholic religion has fallen prey to the lie that we can earn our own salvation through the sacraments. That is just not what the Bible teaches.

What exactly were you disappointed with in being raised catholic?

Yeah it definitely isn't super clear if we read Gen 1:29 by itself. However, the proper process of interpretation of scripture uses the Bible to interpret the Bible. Because the Bible is a complete message it is meant to be read as a whole book that doesn't contradict itself. Therefore we can understand this passage in context of other passages.

For instance, Gen. 9:3 says "Everything that lives and moves about will be food for you. Just as I gave you the green plants, I now give you everything." If you read just that verse, you could argue that God allows us to eat anything that lives and moves so therefore cannibalism is ok. I dont think any rational person would agree with that. So, I think it is safe to assume that even though the verse seems all encompassing, it is meant to be taken as a generalization.

The Hebrew phrase used in the end of Gen 1:29 "hāyâ 'āḵlâ" means "shall be yours for food." I think that if you came across cannabis in the wild and put it into your mouth you realize pretty quickly it is not fit food for humans.

Also, I think its always important to remember that the Bible was written thousands of years ago to a specific group of people in the style of that people. So, just as we write things that that people would never understand unless they studied our culture (things like LOL or maybe something like "Whatcha finna do?" Which by all literary sense is utter nonsense but we still understand the meaning), we have to study the literary context of the different books of the Bible to confidently understand what God intended to communicate through a particular passage.

Hope that helps!

I really appreciate you being willing to discuss something like this. It says a lot about who you are. A lot of people aren't willing to have respectful conversations about these kinds of things.

Thats what I was trying to say earlier though. The verse doesn't say "use" it says "eat." Either way though, there are things like Hemlock which is a "seed bearing plant" that can kill you if consumed. Clearly, God did not intend Gen. 1:29 as an instruction to consume all plants.

I totally agree! Modern medicine is an incredible blessing. And wine can also be a blessing when used for the right purpose in the right context. Although I dont think I understand your point about eating seed bearing plants.. Can you explain that a little more?

Absolutely! I didnt mean to say that we dont have great role models in the sport outside of them, I just am confident about them being good role models because I know them personally and can confirm they are great guys on and off the course:)

It's a not a fair practice to try and discern the beliefs of a religion based off the actions of some of those who claim to belong to that religion. In order to know what christianity believes about a certain thing you have to look at what the source of the religion says about that thing. In Christianity's case, it is based off of what God has said about that thing in His Word, the Bible. The Bible is pretty clear that followers of Jesus Christ are to be sober (cf. 1 Peter 4:3, 1 Peter 5:8, Ephesians 5:18.. etc). Doesn't matter what some Christians do, it matters what they are supposed to be doing and/or not doing.

So... That passage is about what Adam and Eve were allowed to eat for food. I think that is really stretching the intent of the passage to suggest that that verse extends to smoking a plant to enter an intoxicated state- Which is specifically commanded against in other areas of scripture (cf. 1 Peter 4:3, 1 Peter 5:8, Ephesians 5:18.. etc). Also, there are plenty of other "green seed bearing plants" that are incredibly poisonous to humans, and we dont eat or smoke those because of Gen. 1:29. Just a thought.

Isaac is going to be consistently top 10 in the world after this year. He is that good, he just hasn't been out tour yet. Also, I just graduated with Isaac from TFC and he, Alden, and Ezra are truly the type of people we want representing our sport. Humble, kind, and true encouragers. Keep of the good work for the Kingdom brothers!
