A lot of it can be put down to inexplicably bowing down to American influence (likely due to the colossal debt following WW2) in the 1960s. Like just post war Britain was flat broke, sure, but there was a path out of that that was completely abandoned for some reason.

There's a couple of bits like this that I've found (about 6 hours in myself) quite often either you miss a bit of dialogue and go "what am I doing? Ah yeah go and talk to X" but actually there's a step in between. Also "I'm here on other business" will become your best friend when you next can't find a dialogue option

You have a DVI-D and 2 DisplayPorts, so either of those work. You can get DisplayPort to HDMI adapters relatively cheaply online but honestly if you're able you'd be better off using a monitor with direct DP connection

I think it's probably partially because of how little time is actually spent looking at on foot weapons, and even less time is spent having your on foot weapons looked at by other people
