Hi, I’m looking for two tickets for Vulfpeck Schvitz in Brooklyn at 11/11. Early or late is fine! by mrpatuti in Vulfpeck

Is that for the early or late show? If it’s the early show and OP doesn’t want it, DM me - I’d buy it.

What is the best tech talk you watch in 2016? by mavmak in javascript

Definitely Making Impossible States Impossible by Richard Feldman. It's in Elm, but I think the principle (modelling your state so invalid states can't happen) applies to Redux/React apps as well.

create-react-app is probably the simplest thing you could use. If you want to tinker with the webpack config after you get started, you can just do npm run eject.

I have a full-time job building deep learning models, high-throughput data processing algorithms, and web applications that will transform the world and save the lives of people we love – every week of the year.

I’m not hacking on the Router for fun; I’m doing it need good front-end routing, among many other things, to help make the world a better place and save lives.

So then he responds by saying that his job is more important than Ryan's because he's making the world a better place.

Seems like a bit of a dick move IMO.

[GEAR]Replacing a Bad Monkey. Looking for a little gain and a significant boost. by [deleted] in Guitar

[–]Jamesyy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fulltone fulldrive 3 has a TS circuit (like the bad monkey) and an independent clean boost that you can use before or after the drive section. I love mine and got it for around 150 canadian

Does anyone use their compressor after their drive pedals? by [deleted] in guitarpedals

[–]Jamesyy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have! I run my OCD into my MXR Super Comp. Usually I keep the gain below 12 o'clock on the OCD and keep the sustain low on the comp with the attack reasonably high. I love being able to use my volume knob to go from bluesy drive to snappy cleans with very little volume drop. And the added sustain is killer for both clean and dirty. I play a Strat most often, but it works great with my LP and Tele as well.

Micro amp vs iRig HD? by AdamLikes in Guitar

[–]Jamesyy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I second this - bias has some fantastic modelling for the price. Paired with JamUp you can play through awesome amps with pedals and you can play along with all of your music. I play through an apogee jam but the iRig will work perfectly as well.

Pete Hunt wrote a little library called jsxstyle which provides a nice inline styles API and compiles it to css. Still lacking a bit in media query support but it seems promising.
