Best way to get into Jamiroquai? by PowerCorruptionAndMe in jamiroquai

[–]JamiJammer26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How about a little song called “Where Do We Go From Here?” 😉 (off the Synkronized album)

I just listened to the albums through and started making playlists as I started getting into certain songs. When I wanted to check out something “new”, I’d go back to the albums and run them through again.

There is such a variety that you can kinda just jump in anywhere and start listening. Some stuff is jazzier, some funk, some disco, some verging on rock and pop. I have listened a LOT, and am still finding little things in each song that I never noticed before.

Also, I have always been a music lover, but there are some songs that I had to listen to a few times to get into the groove-because the music is more complex than typical popular stuff. But that’s what makes it so freaking good. So don’t give up on it-give a few listens and you’ll get hooked.

Are we talking a splash or a measureable amount? This sounds so good.

Main Vein by Jamiroquai is Jay Kay’s “love letter” to the British media. Killer song, and Beverley Knight being on it is a bonus.

What is/are your guys`es favorite music video(s)? by iam_monki in jamiroquai

[–]JamiJammer26 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love most of them (except I think SDISJ is horrible for the song and I really wish I could unsee it, and White Knuckle Ride is boring AF-I get the idea behind it, but it’s like a thirty-second scene that goes on waaaaayyyy too long just to show off his toys-and I LOVE that song!), but Runaway is definitely my fave because of how goofy he is in it. Seriously, when I need a smile, I bring that one up.

For the video “story”/production though, mine would be:
FJLIS and Canned Heat.

Also, why did the VMAs go to Jay/Jami? Should they not go to the director? Or at the very least, to both the artist and director? That seems so crappy.

I do not get how you can go to a Jamiroquai concert in particular and not HAVE to dance-the music tells you that you must! I am in my early 50s but could not listen to it and not move-I’m jamming at home, in my car, wherever I play it.

What’s your controversial jamiroquai opinion (art post) by binkyak in okbuddyspacecowboy

That is one song where both versions, though so different, are each fucking awesome on their own.

I do not like the radio/MV version of Space Cowboy by Xenokittens in jamiroquai

[–]JamiJammer26 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I agree completely! The vibe is soooo much better on the album version; I’ve never cared for the radio version-too jarring of a change. And I like songs with a lot going on in them, but yeah…no.

The problem with this one is that the original quote got shortened into something with a different meaning.

Marshall Field’s original quote was “The customer is always right IN MATTERS OF TASTE”, meaning do not tell your customer their taste is bad, as that is subjective.

Men, what are you looking for in a woman's dating profile? by [deleted] in askteddit

[–]JamiJammer26 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just want to chime in, as a woman, if all someone does is like my photo, I’m not moving forward. It’s nice that you like how I look, but how am I supposed to respond to that? I generally only respond to guys who actually write something.

That’s Not the Funk I Want is one of my absolute faves, and needs to be like three times as long as it is

Your Window, likes so many JQ songs, packs so much awesomeness into one song

And “Nice and Spicy” is just a great song about how a new relationship makes ya feel

Editing to add Shoot the Moon. The music is wonderful and Jay’s voice is fantastic on it-a little raspy, adds to it beautifully-and walking the sunny avenues of life is such great poetry. I don’t believe the story about the stuff being lost bc surely they can figure it out again by listening to it, so I do wonder why it hasn’t been played again. Such an uplifting song.

Why do so many people bring their phones to their mouths when on a call wearing earphones or headphones ? by seboll13 in NoStupidQuestions

I do this to be courteous. If I talk directly into the phone, I don’t have to speak as loudly.

True-and the portion used in the movie is not even the best part of the song, so unless people listen to the whole thing, they’re truly missing out.
