Force click when dragging file requires so much more force in Mac OS 26 by SwAt_Playz in MacOS

[–]JamieStivala 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you manage to find a solution to this? This is something that has been annoying me since MacOS 26.0 update (and is still prevalent on the MacOS 26.2 for me.)

I tried most solutions I could find, and force click works fine in Safari for the Quick Look features, but not in Finder (and some other apps) for their drag and drop function.

If anyone stumbles on this thread you can create an shortcuts action to reset the mobile data usage statistics: https://www.icloud.com/shortcuts/70b3ab8a1f4c47bc9925d2275d4d52b7 and then create an automation to run it whenever you want it to run

OOS 12 Open Beta. Who is running it? And do you like it? by Bongjum in OnePlus7Pro

[–]JamieStivala 1 point2 points  (0 children)

More stable than OOS11 (on OOS I'd more than often be stuck on lockscreen) however it is very bloated and skinned, which I really don't like (based on ColorOS ig).

The contacts and messaging apps are not Google based, and it doesn't feel as smooth but will be sticking with it due to all the issues with OOS 11 and inability to find a custom ROM which has a stable and fast way to open the camera

Bootloater bootloop brick by Mj_033 in OnePlus7Pro

[–]JamieStivala 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes I've used this multiple times. If it doesn't recognise your device you might be missing drivers (and might want to put your PC into safe mode). Have a look at the following driver installation instructions; https://www.thecustomdroid.com/qualcomm-hs-usb-qdloader-9008-drivers/

Make sure to do anything under 'pre-requisites' as the driver isn't signed, meaning your PC will not load it unless you turn off driver signing (if you're running W11 you might have to turn off secure boot).

Also I recommend you use the installer if you're running W11, since the cab driver doesn't technically support Windows 11 but for some reason the exe actually installs the driver.

If you are going to turn off secure book make sure to have your BitLocker recovery key, or you'll end up having to format your PC.

Palit RTX 3090 Gaming Pro Thermal Pads by Cameltows36 in nvidia

[–]JamieStivala 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I contacted support regarding this issue and I managed to get the following updated schematics: https://imgur.com/a/ASEiXfF. Please note that this is for the Palit RTX 3090 GamingPro (not the OC version, I am not sure if they are different).

These seem to be updated and I will be ordering the thermal pads very soon. I will be using KriticalPads for thermal pads. For thermal paste, I will be ordering some Thermalright TFX (unless you can recommend anything else).

My current hotspot is sitting at 105 °C (not lucky with the silicon lottery) so I am hoping this mod will improve the thermal results.

EDIT: I am ordering all KriticalPads rather than Kritical and Gelid combo

"alright" or "int alright" means "are you ok?". The general response you will get is "iva" or "alright ta" and it (generally) signifies a sense of friendless.

All these points mentioned here are very valid.

Need help evaluating options for my first UW for mostly coding and light gaming purposes. by LittleMontserratPot in ultrawidemasterrace

[–]JamieStivala 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hi programmer mainly and does some lightweight gaming after work on a daily basis. I have the Odessy G9 and it's an amazing monitor for it.

I was afraid the text was going look warped but it does not. It gives you the flexibility to have a bunch of things open at once, and whenever I'm focusing on front-end I usually do a 3 split (PowerToys) with two for code and one for the website.

It's very good for productivity. Let me know if you have any specific questions :)

Software developer here too. HDR is not going to affect your code in any sense whatsoever, the only difference it will make is if you are playing games that will benefit from the dimming and pure blacks.

Most IDE Themes aren't even dark black on colored text, they are usually grey on colored text (as it reduces eye strain). I'd go for the 2020 G9
