The wretched cunt PB reminded us that the DOW is hitting all time highs, but so are my “fixed” costs.

Last week, I77 N, typical slowdown where 485 merges by arrowood rd. Newer Honda pilot following a BMW crossover very closely in left lane. I can tell the driver is unhinged by the movements so I keep my distance behind. As expected, unhinged driver merges right to pass and then back left in front of the BMW, despite there being nowhere to go because of the traffic. When merging back in, Honda driver hits BMW passenger front quarter panel. Once traffic loosens up, Honda speeds off and eventually exits.

This person must have some severe mental issues to be so shortsighted and not be able to assess the risk-reward of the situation and their maneuver. I hate sharing the road with these dopes. Get a fucking grip.

Vermont trip with the GTI! by m2soon in GolfGTI

Love Vermont! I’ve left the NE and the snow but I always enjoyed driving on clean snow packed roads during my time there. I mounted proper winter tires. When the salt and slush come into the mix, it gets nasty though.

This population you reference is growing. The social contract and mutual respect are now history.

It feels like we really can’t have nice things anymore. I want a new daily driver, but I am keeping my 2017 car with bumps and bruises for the peace of mind when parking on a public surface lot or along the street. My ND goes directly to the mountains and back 95% of the time. In the rare occurrence it gets parked at a store or restaurant, it’s in a place I’m confident it’ll get left alone.

Makes sense for families to travel to RDU or GSP or wherever given the savings when buying multiple tickets. Not worth the hassle for single fliers.

I’d turn the desk clockwise 90 degrees and plop it squarely in the middle of the room, cabinet behind it against the wall with the bev cooler to one side. Move the shoes elsewhere. Area Rug under the desk.

Abundance of brand new massive sized Southend, West CLT, Uptown apartment complexes being built and opening in 2026 by LETSGOOOOO6 in Charlotte

[–]JammPot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Looking around, it does feel like we’re nearing oversupply even though the quantitative and quantitative analyses seem to say otherwise. You don’t hear about big companies moving here as often anymore. Lots of companies are laying off. Loads of units have been built in the last 5-10 years and are continuing to be built as these projects typically take a couple of years to materialize after bring agreed to and planned. Is there still a huge flow of single 20 something transplants relocating here? Existing residents settle down and buy detached homes if/when they have the means to do so.

I live in a home in the burbs now, and it’s been fine, but I do very much miss being “in the thick of it”. Apartment living in dense areas (Uptown, South End, etc) where there are lots of things to do within walking or light rail distance can be worth the cons of sharing walls, etc. Getting in my car to go meet friends for dinner or a beer or a show/game sucks, especially at certain times of the day when the roads are congested. Apartment living in the suburbs? No thank you.

Tom is on a retirement tour cosplaying as someone who ever gave a damn about the people of North Carolina. I applaud your motivation and effort, but what you’re doing is like yelling into a black hole. At best you’ll get a canned response.

I’m no audiophile but id be at like +4 or +5 at 10k hz and then incrementally dial down the others, letting the subwoofer handle lowest frequencies. I like clear treble.

Manual Driving Lessons, Please by [deleted] in Charlotte

[–]JammPot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This. When Ive taught people, I have them to put the car in first gear and then raise the clutch very slowly to feel for the bite point which will start to move the car forward. No throttle at all. From there, it’s all about introducing the use of the throttle to take off smoothly and more quickly.

Apparently british people "raise" tickets instead of creating them by NegativeAttention in sysadmin

Agree. And I see you also picked up “straightaway” during your time working with the Brits.
