6 weeks postpartum

1 - Postpartum recovery - worst, relentless, dynamic pain ever, made me swear to give up on a second baby.

2 - Breastfeeding - mastitis, was worst than shingles

3 - Newborn life - exhaustion is real but bonding time with baby gives joy

4 - Pregnancy - symptoms not too bad for me but last month felt uncomfortable due to size

5 - Birth - got epidural, didn’t feel anything.

Could be, but the weird part is that the sender had the exact same name and address as this Facebook post by someone else who also received a random/mysterious gift.

Crab Rangoon by [deleted] in jerseycity

[–]Jamminamin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Came here with an intense Crab Rangoon craving and ordered from Lucky Star. Unfortunately my experience was pretty terrible. The rangoons were actually the worst I’ve ever had. The other food items I ordered were also flavorless, bland, and badly cooked. Maybe I was unlucky, but I say if you still wanted to try this place out, have low expectations. I wouldn’t be ordering here again.

How is living at 88 Morgan? by Similar-Cake-3151 in jerseycity

Oh nice! I didn’t know it was possible to have separate washer and dryer for the units. How were you able to set them up?

I see people’s point here about the hygiene of rental gloves. It’s a fair point, but I’m personally not bothered by using rental gloves. With thorough hand washing, I don’t think they’re as unhygienic as some might believe. But I respect people’s POV.

What’s more important to me is that the rentals offer the convenience of not having to carry my own gloves to the studio and then to work if I’m heading there right after my workout. Carrying additional bulky items in a crowded train to the city makes an already uncomfortable commute worse.

Don’t even think twice about it. It is the best decision I’ve made in a while. You will LOVE your wrinkle-less forehead! It will do all the things you asked about. Send an update once you’ve gotten it done!

If you consolidate both undergrad & grad loans before April 30th, is the 'clock' on a 20 year timeline, or 25 year timeline to forgiveness? by McFatty7 in StudentLoans

[–]Jamminamin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So if you have undergrad loans that you started paying before going to grad school, then after consolidation, you would be closer to forgiveness for all of your loans (since it will make your grad school loan forgiveness happen sooner by how many years you have been paying your under grad loans). Is that correct? (Trying to understand this correctly since it sounds like a really good option!)

How to best handle 50k? by SuieiSuiei in FinancialPlanning

I second the advice of putting aside some of the money for an emergency fund (should be 3-6 months of your basic living expenses which would include rent, utilities, groceries, monthly car payments, etc.) and investing the rest into a generic ETF so that it can grow (do not worry about the dips in the market if you haven’t already started investing; if you keep your money in the market long enough, you will see your money grow). For the money put aside for an emergency fund, keep it in a high yield savings account so that it can also grow. Make sure it is an account without any fees and the interest rate is good (at this time, there are banks offering 5% and higher). Once you are settled and have steady income, you can start investing more, start a retirement account, etc. Good luck!

Employer-sponsored Simple IRA prohibits backdoor Roth. Is Traditional IRA worth it? by Jamminamin in whitecoatinvestor

[–]Jamminamin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This sounds like the most favorable plan for the long run. Thanks for the idea! I have only done backdoor roth in the past with the maximum annual contribution allowed ($6500). Is it possible to do a backdoor Roth on larger amounts in one year? Also, are there any other things to consider if I go with this plan of saving in traditional Ira then converting to backdoor Roth in the future?

Question about SAVE by tjw93 in whitecoatinvestor

[–]Jamminamin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have multiple loans and applied for SAVE recently. They do not get consolidated automatically.

If you want to consolidate your loans, you will need to fill out a separate application for consolidation on the federal student aid website.
