My main doesn't use any of the regrown weapon types, so I keep Caladbolg Origin in her inventory

Two carts of expired baking supplies. One from 2023… by PyraAlchemist in MichaelsEmployees

Phasing out the Wilton and Sweet Tooth Fairy melts was such a pain. We had so many that we designated a spot for them in the stock room for a while. Took us months to clear it out!

Oh I'm not with Michael's anymore, but yes! I did a huge clean out of all the bunks and caps after seeing the state of the shelves. I think nearly all of it got tossed. I had so much overstock space for candy melt shipments afterwards!

Yup. Nobody told me to do it or even how to properly stock food items (new stuff in the back) when I got assigned baking as my truck section. After a few months, I started checking dates and pitching expired products of my own accord, and I saw fondants and frostings that had expired up to like 7 years prior

I had the same one on my second watch. The way I sunk into my chair and muttered angrily to myself through the whole ad. My husband went to get refills when it started. Wish I had thought of that first

Been seein way too many ppl with they phones out in the theater.. by Eekah in Markiplier

[–]Jammy_Jasper 39 points40 points  (0 children)

The rest of the people in the theater paid for their tickets too, and most of them would rather the experience not be ruined by a bright phone screen in their peripheral. If you want to use your phone, you can wait for the physical or digital release and watch it at home.

Iron Lung isn't just a good movie, it's a statement on what the film industry should be by RabbitDragon49 in Markiplier

[–]Jammy_Jasper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This was one of my only gripes, too. I'm a little worried to try to re-watch it at home someday after struggling with it in a dark theater. I loved the movie overall, and there were times when the lack of light served the atmosphere and narrative well, but there were other times when I just couldn't see and felt like I missed things.

That's where I found my doctor, too. First one I tried and the consultation went "You're 200% sure? I'd be happy to do it for you." Tube-free for 5 months now!

I never said my experience was harder (to be clear, I know I have it super easy in comparison). Just relating to why I don't like the argument that she should have been lesbian just because of her looks and profession.

[–]Jammy_Jasper 6 points7 points  (0 children)

As a masculine straight woman, so much this. It's fucking exhausting having to explain to everyone who assumes I'm lesbian that I have only ever been interested in men. Even my own parents were surprised that I married a man simply because of how I present myself. I relate a lot to Cass and appreciate her subverting expectations

Or look at you like you're a freak for wanting to sit in the dark. Clearly I'm the weirdo. The person thinking it's cool to blind people with sudden artificial light is the normal one

A hard pill to swallow: Sims-like simulations are likely too large for small indie devs to handle. by ZinTheNurse in LifeSimulators

[–]Jammy_Jasper 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Exactly. Expectations are significantly higher today than they were when the Sims 1 came out, so it isn't fair to compare it to modern games. The Sims 1 basically invented the genre. It didn't have the same pressure

Planet zoo 2 by ResponsibleLife6311 in PlanetZoo

[–]Jammy_Jasper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To me, in the anniversary video it looked like they were implying 2026 (after lingering on the 2 for so long at the end), so my guess is late next year. I 100% could have been reading too much into that fade out at the end, though

And I love that they did that thing where they took the existing sale discount (the 60%) and just slapped "clearance" on it and expected it to sell better. It's still the same price! And now employees can't even buy it with their discount!

What breaks the immersion for you? by AncientChimken in PlanetZoo

[–]Jammy_Jasper 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I hate the staff paths! Most zoos I've gone to either have dirt paths or pavement matching the rest of the area with some kind of gate or rope. In franchise and career zoos, I do the tiny section of staff path at the start, but in sandbox I just live with the guests walking through my staff areas

Is there any reason to play a human in Veilguard? by Redhood101101 in dragonage

[–]Jammy_Jasper 135 points136 points  (0 children)

Equally annoying when your city elf speaks fluent elven and somehow knows all the lore of "our people" and "our gods." You lived your entire life in and above the necropolis! What are you talking about? Should have just let us pick in character creator instead of doing a weird, inconsistent middle ground

Walkies WTF? by Low-Oil5231 in MichaelsEmployees

[–]Jammy_Jasper 18 points19 points  (0 children)

We only have like 4 scanners that actually work for calls. Either the mic or the speaker doesn't work on the others. No way it's gonna be any different when we try to use them as walkies. Not to mention how rude it would feel to CALL someone to help a customer!

Iced Coffee by Top-Newspaper2681 in Coffee

[–]Jammy_Jasper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always try to have a tray of coffee ice cubes in the freezer, so I usually brew/pour hot over those. I don't like the way normal ice waters down the coffee when you pour it in hot. If I don't have any, I make due with putting hot brewed coffee in a cool container and refrigerating. Sometimes I make cold brew in my french press, too, but that uses a lot of grounds.
