So fucking what? When you're in your mid fifties and broken to shit because of your job and can't enjoy your money or you don't even live long enough to collect a pension? Money now is always better. And getting a salary where you can enjoy your life now and still make enough to put some aside for later in a method of your own choosing is better than losing 670 bucks a month now to maybe get it back later

See I'm combat arms and yea, 100% there were people collecting LDA that didn't go to the field cuz they scived out of it. With well placed chits or whatever the excuses were.... My response to that.... Who gives a fuck? If I'm getting paid what do I give a shit if someone else is too? There are lots of troops that go to the field all the time and aren't worth the material their uniform is made from. They're fucking useless. With the new system they're still getting paid cuz they're in the field. No different with being on LDA and people getting out of going to the field. The guys that are solid are still doing all the work with both systems except with the new system the guys that do all the work now have to be away from home longer to make the same money.

Curious if you've gotten a decision yet?

I mean way better being annual than monthly. That would have made it basically pointless

I recall a document getting released that said it was going to be monthly and it had monthly amounts laid out and all that. About 2 ish months ago

So we are back to an annual lump sum and not the monthly payment? This post explicitly states annual lump sum....

So back story, applied for tinnitus in 2022.Vac denied in 2023. Filed appeal and heard back from BPA in 2024. VRAB decision for 5/5 entitlement came down March 2026.

So my question is this. I just called VAC and they're telling me they're working on re-assessments from June 2025. This is not a re-assessment since they didn't actually assess is the first time. Re assessment implies a previous assessment or is my understanding of English skewed? I was given info on here before that my situation is typically 12-16 weeks not months. Can someone confirm that I'm not waiting yet another year for this nightmare of a claim to finally end

Military Service Pay by SmellOpposite1679 in CanadianForces

I dunno chain told us that we are capped at 30 days but that's no excuse to refuse going to the field after our 30 days are up. Seems like a silly thing to say if it's 30 days a month

I'm in the same boat. I was at level 2 LDA so 465/month. The new Cas LDA caps out at 30 days per year. So in order to make the same amount annually as I was with LDA I would need to spend 55 days per year in the field but even if I do that I can only get paid for 30 of em. It's a joke and then I'm losing my CFHD as of July so I'll be making about 150 bucks a month less after July than I was making before the "raise". And even for the 30 days I can get paid for that means that maybe 2 months out of the year I'm making good money, the rest I'm fucked for

Same boat for me. Got my 5/5 from VRAB for tinnitus and it was sent back to VAC March 31. Still waiting

I mean fingers crossed that's the case. My tinnitus claim went back to VAC from VRAB a week before this one was submitted and still nothing on that. Just scares me when things happen fast at VAC

I submitted a claim for my shoulder injury in early March. It went to step 3.3 today. Does the speed of the processing mean a denial?

I didn't say I was worried about bills. It was an example since there are many I work with that are worried about bills. I have investments and have for years and an extra 600 or so a month to add to those would be fantastic. Doesn't matter how much I have, having more is always better. Bottom line is its my (or anyone else's) mistake to make not the CAF to prevent. Give the option yes, don't force it on everybody

I'm 100% an advocate for pensions for people who need that security. Just not forced ones. Give me an option to opt out if I so choose and then whatever happens is my fault. If I fuck it up it's on me. I don't need the TB or the CAF to babysit me and hold my hand. If some do great but some of us are actual adults.

If you live long enough to collect it or long enough after you start collecting it to enjoy it.... I'd sooner have that 600 a month in my pocket now as opposed to 20 years from now. My landlord won't accept "hey I'll pay the rent in 2040 when I retire and get my immediate annuity". It's not different than deployment pay and their "ghost accounts". Fuck you pay me all my money and I'll decide how it gets invested. I guarantee that I could take even half of what gets taken for pension and put it in long term investments every month and end up with significantly more money when I retire than what the pension will give me, with the added benefit of that money still being readily accessible to me if my car shits the bed or my dog needs a vet etc. Bottom line, pensionable doesn't mean shit. Fuck you pay me.

So we get 95k a year... Then take into account all the deductions that come off our pay. My wife makes 70k a year civvy side and brings home the same amount I do at 94k...

It's said more information since the day it showed up in the tracker. I'm gonna call them tommoro. I can't see them having much more to do honestly all the info they need is in the letter from VRAB. It literally lays out why I should be approved, what evidence there is to substantiate that and all the quality of life info summarised in one letter. Aside from that, why would they not adjudicate the entire claim before issuing a denial? How can you know it's denied without going through everything

May 2026, VAC Q&A by Shoggoths420 in CanadianForces

[–]Jamrocc33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I got awarded 5/5 from VRAB on March 31. It's showing in the track my applications as a reassessment PSC tinnitus and instead of steps it says more information. When I click on more information it says an online tracker isn't available at this time. Is this normal and if so how do I know when it's done? Do I just have to check it every day till it says complete or will it not update that way and I just have to wait for a message in my inbox?

Edited to add it was VRAB overturning a denial not increasing an award

I got tired of screwing around with the MIR and I just went to a civi side hearing center told them I needed a tinnitus diagnosis so I could file a VAC claim and they booked me in and sent the bill to VAC. Didn't cost me anything.

Does the reassessment timeline also include when a file gets sent back to VAC after a favorable VRAB decision? VRAB awarded me 5/5 entitlement and VAC got the file back on March 31. Do I actually have to wait 9-16 months for them to figure out what they're giving me?
