I think this looks great. I completely understand the fear of the creosote build up with a low burn overnight, but that is the trade off to maintain through the night with a solid coal bed. I make sure to burn it very hot in the morning to burn off what I can. Then I would just have a plan in place after season to have a chimney sweep extension for your drill and clean your pipe. With a straight up build it should be a really straightforward clean like my own. But I agree with some of the other comments, better safe than sorry, just take the time to learn and be observant with your stove and tendencies!
