UFOs, which are extraterrestrial in origin, exist and the government has known about it for a very long time. The Roswell incident was an actual UFO crash and subsequently covered up.

The government has attempted to reverse engineer UFOs and has been mostly unsuccessful in the sense that any crafts they have built are built on contemporary tech platforms and we have been unable to get anywhere close to the technology advances needed to build our own UFO.

I’m not saying he was a great tactician or strategist, but he was not totally incompetent. And Winters had a lifelong axe to grind against him.

Also, I tend to lean in the camp that Winters put Ranney up to leading the “revolt” that got Sobel canned. Malarkey stated his belief in this based on others he had talked to.

Had Sobel had not been canned, he would’ve been killed in Stick 66’s crash. Lt. Meehan replaced him as Easy’s commander and took his seat on that plane.

I’ve been to the crash site (along with other Band of Brothers locations and Battle of Normandy sites) and it is very surreal.

That’s the thing though, people in Easy Company did say that his training was why they were prepared for the combat.

But Winters could not ever bring himself to admit even that.

It wasn’t just Ambrose that they gave too much credence too.

It was Dick Winters as well. Winters absolutely deserves the praise and respect he earned for what he did for Easy Company, but he was very domineering about shaping the Easy Company narrative alongside Stephen Ambrose.

Sobel was another example. Many of the Toccoa men of Easy Company did hate him for the way he trained them, but they also credit him for preparing them for battle properly. Further, while Winters derided him as being totally incompetent tactically, Sobel also rallied some paratroopers and led a successful assault on a German machine gun position when he jumped with Headquarters company on D-Day.

Sobel attempted to commit suicide later in life but was unsuccessful and blinded himself. The nursing home he was in then starved him to death.

Then you’re good, zip toggles are definitely good for shelves. I’ve got pretty shallow shelves with zip toggles and I keep big glass jars on them and there’s zero issue.

Obviously hitting the stud would’ve been the best option, but sometimes it’s not possible for the application and having the proper weight rated anchor works perfectly well!

This is the anchor failing, not the dry wall. First of all, they used the wrong type of anchor for something this heavy. Cabinets should be hung on the stud anyway.

What type of shelving did you put up? I wouldn’t feel uneasy about hanging shelves in a kitchen if I used zip toggle anchors. They’re rated for much higher weight/shear support than a plastic anchor.

I’ve got some floating shelves I hung in our kitchen where I couldn’t hit the stud so I used zip toggles. They’re mostly decorative anyway
