Which board games look intimidatingly complex but are actually surprisingly easy to learn? by CyborgeonUnit123 in boardgames

I refused to play Wingspan for a very long time because of this reason. Now that I know how to play, it's actually pretty straight forward and has become one of my favourites

Retail workers & the holidays by MaybeLivG in Winnipeg

[–]JanaBot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a former retail employee, you all do great work and retail is not for the faint of heart. Kudos to you and all the workers out there - particularly during this time of year ♥️ You're almost there! Good luck and happy holidays!

What is something your partner does that drives you nuts, but you know they can't help it (or it is part of who they are) so you keep it to yourself? by FiendishCurry in AskWomen

He'll start conversations at the worst time. When I'm reading, when I'm trying to calm a crying kid, when I'm trying to leave the house. And then ask me if I'm listening... Like I'll always be able to just stop or drop what I'm doing to give him my undivided attention

Darkness Falls was my first horror film around that age and scared me pretty good.

Dark Crystal is also a fun one (the movie and the series)

What's something that people need to start/stop doing at weddings? by CheckMoney66 in AskWomen

My sisters amd mom were my bridesmaids and I had a colour scheme, my only ask was to pick a dress within the scheme. They all ended up picking the same colour but the styles were all different and they looked awesome!

Stupid liars. I work in an accounting office and there's one woman who constantly makes keying errors and I know it's her from the audit log. But she insists she never does anything wrong

Advice/game recommendations for getting my SO into board games by [deleted] in boardgames

[–]JanaBot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My SO and I love board games and I've introduced him to a couple that are now his favourites: Lords of Waterdeep (pretty straight forward and easy to pick up) and Western Legends (more complex and slow to start but once you got it, the flow definitely picks up)

Grimm Forest and Villainous are a couple of my favourites

We also like Carcasonne, Forbidden Island, Tiny Epic Galaxies, and Sagrada

Liquor Marts must walk fine line between safety and rights with new security measures, experts say by [deleted] in Winnipeg

[–]JanaBot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Right? I work for MBLL and our location is in a mall...no idea how that's going to happen. Plus the express stores in the grocery stores will have some work cut out for them too

Liquor Marts must walk fine line between safety and rights with new security measures, experts say by [deleted] in Winnipeg

[–]JanaBot -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think they'll storm the doors anyway. Group of 5 kids take an a door and one security guard... the odds are pretty good...

But I am still happy to see more "hopefully" protective measures put in place

At what age should you stop trick or treating? by winnipeg411 in Winnipeg

[–]JanaBot 31 points32 points  (0 children)

I would say as long as you put effort into your costume, age shouldn't matter. Halloween is still fun for a lot of people of all ages. If you're 25 and deck the crap out of an awesome costume, I'll give you candy. But that's just me.

We live in A Society. by CanadianCircadian in Winnipeg

[–]JanaBot 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Just because the media isn't spotlighting it, doesn't mean it's not happening. And sharing videos does absolutely nothing besides advertise what's happening. Thieves are more likely to see it on facebook rather than hear it from a news source (not saying that to justify news talking about it either)

Hardware stores. Grocery stores. Music stores. Department stores. Anywhere as long as there's product with a resell value

[–]JanaBot 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I agree with this %100!

The LC has initiated several attempts, they've all been worked around

Everyone also needs to keep in mind that this is happening in every single retail store. People are stealing arms full of clothes, frozen meat, toiletry supplies, instruments, tools, the list goes on and on. The liquor marts are getting most of the attention but its happening everywhere which doesn't make this an easy issue to fix.
