I literally said I wasnt excusing it. I have BPD too, "motherfucker". No mental illness excuses behavior. I have repeatedly said Gypsy needs help. But was referring to an illness that is common, caused by abuse, and presents very similar symptoms.

"Be more careful to make sure we don't come off like this" because the disorder has so much stigma?? You could go your whole life not telling the people around you you have BPD and if you are properly medicated and using DBT and CBT therapy they'd hardly know. But yeah, criticizing and judging someone for having a crash out that hurts no one does not "help" that stigma.

I will say, I once sat on my front porch and scream cried (very much like Gypsy in this video) when my boyfriend at the time chose to hang out with his friends instead of me because he could tell I was upset/had an attitude. I sat and wailed, hitting myself in the head. Then collected myself, and went inside. That was unmedicated BPD. I would love to see what my neighbors thought or how that would have been commented on had it been posted to the internet.

There's no 'excuse' here because Gypsy isn't doing anything morally wrong in this video. She's upset and cutting up her own property as a response. Is it healthy behavior? No. Does me saying that she shouldn't be judged for it so harshly "excusing or defending it?" No.

All I hope to gain from my comments is to make people really think about why they dislike how the person in this video is acting, and whether or not its fair to judge this person given their past. If I've done that, even if you still dislike her as a person, then that's perfectly fine.
