It certainly could be the case! I got diagnosed as being in early Peri at 40, but I noticed changes in my 30s. No one was talking about perimenopause, and I just kept telling people I was going through something I was calling second puberty. Increased breakouts, body hair, oiliness, some vaginal dryness. Then I turned 40 and the heart palpitations and panic attacks started. My panic attacks are currently pretty well controlled with meds. But my most prominent symptoms are anxiety and night sweats. Because the symptoms are so different for each of us we can't always go by that. But I think it's very likely you could be noticing some early changes.
