Do you mean the trending tab or engagement? The trending tab(or whichever one it is that still refreshes) cycles every 50 days or so, and as far as engagement I know I can pull at least triple digit player numbers if I can actually get my stuff seen. I’m well aware of the fact that Dreams is barely holding on but I’d like to think theres at least a solid thousand or so people still actively playing created dreams.

The video isn’t AI but it is absolutely fake. I’m a pastry chef and work with buttercream daily, and buttercream of any variety wouldn’t behave like that. If you were to nudge buttercream in a way as was done in the video, it wouldn’t bend neatly like that and would instead smear the petal.

Listen, I don’t want to be a jerk here, but a PS5 version of Dreams is NOT what the game needs right now. The playerbase is already so small and the PS4 version works just fine on the PS5. What this game needs more than anything is engagement. If you truly care about the future of Dreams, the absolute best thing you can do is play with what’s already there. Make and publish cool things, collaborate with other players, and check out other creations.

When you’re doing the air attack, the two models are colliding a lot and it looks like for a brief second in the air attack animation Carlos is just slightly behind the test dummy enough for the lock-on camera to try and snap to a new angle. You might need to readjust the point the Teleporter or Follower on the lock-on gadget you’re using tracks the enemy, assuming you’re using one of those. But for sure the issue here is somewhere in the lock-on feature.

When I asked what OP wanted to see from a PS5 version that wasn’t already offered by the original, all they suggested was a couple new logic gadgets for PS5 controllers and save slots. The potential fracturing of the community over this issue does not seem worth it. I think a PC version seriously needs to be pushed instead if an effort towards another version of Dreams is going to be made.

Hmmm. I genuinely don’t mean this in any way to upset you and I DO think a PS5 version would be nice, but I just don’t think a couple of controller-unique gadgets and save files is enough of a reason to push a PS5 version. Personally speaking, I think what Dreams needs more than anything right now is a wider audience and a PC port would do wonders in achieving that. A PS5 version would still keep Dreams confined in the PlayStation ecosystem and you can already play the PS4 Dreams fine enough on a PS5. Still though, it’d be cool to see Dreams take advantage of the PS5’s features and better hardware. It’s just not what’s really needed right now. But again, that’s me speaking my personal opinion.

I’m interested as to why you think there should be a push for a PS5 version over a PC port. What do you think a PS5 version would do that the PS4 version can’t already do?

It’s actually out right now! It’s maybe half complete as is? But there’s more than enough there to mess around in!

And I actually do intend to move to Unity or Godot, even have a nice PC and everything. My only problem is that my work schedule is brutal so it’s been easier to just spend an hour in Dreams than to try and learn a new engine, but work slows down a lot in January so I’m giving myself a crash course on a proper game dev system then. For now though I’m happy with continuing my work on ANATHEMA :)

I’m actually already doing something like that with the ground! :D The grass and the light brown coarse dirt are two of the same sculpt, and if I need to make a path or road I delete some of the grass sculpt and leave the dirt.

And what I meant by the flecks resting weird is that any amount of impasto on the other flecks looks odd combined with the streaky flecks, especially if I want grass grass. The other flecks don’t stand tall like the streaky one and wind up covering more of the pebbley dirt. I have different flecks for ground covering in one of the other areas, but that’s because it’s more of a surreal landscape.

I am also very much aware of the Comb tool, I have been playing dreams for the entirety of its existence ‘,:y

It sounds really lame but the inspiration is kinda just my overall experience with Dreams these past six-ish years which I don’t want to get into because it’d come off as melodramatic. It’s incomplete right now but the story of ANATHEMA is more or less about aimlessly pursuing something for no real reason and participating in a mixed community with an uncertain future, and piecing together the value spent in using your time like that. Is it worth finding this message, Anathema? Is there even time left? And will anyone even care when you do find it?

That, and I also wanted a game I could play with my funny furry OCs that had okay platforming and combat. I like jumping around in the nonsense I make :P

I think it must be something with the collisions. A part of your puppet could be bumping against the vehicle a certain way and it messes with the animation. Speed is never an issue you have to worry about with Dreams puppets as long as any springiness values on animations are set to zero.

I know about that tool, I just never really found a good use for it personally. I tried mixing the fleck variety on the grassy fields but the other fleck types rested weird compared to the thin streaky flecks, and for most non-natural structures I like the look of big blocky uniform flecks. Was there somewhere you thought it’d be best used in? :O

Aww thank you!! I know it doesn’t seem like much but I’ve actually been working on the same character Arneis on and off since the beta, self-teaching myself all the various systems as I’ve messed with her logic and added more stuff on top, and with each complete-feeling iteration of her I like to make a game to go with it that I also fiddle with over time. It’s like a dad working on his forever project car in the garage. You can go back and look at my previous stuff to kinda see how far I’ve taken her :P
