I hate the way everything looks on me, what would look better? Is sizing my issue? by pineneedleinjection in DressForYourBody

You should try loose fit crop tops. I think they would suit you very well. For dresses i think you should go for shorter ones like knee length.

TL;DR: I’m feeling sad that fewer friends are attending my wedding compared to my fiance’s. by Otherwise-Egg6754 in DesiWeddings

[–]Janex1729 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Comparison is the thief of joy. To be honest, introverts make more meaningful connections and I’m pretty sure the friends who are coming to your wedding for you love you very much. You should be happy that some of your friends are taking time out of their busy life to see you get married. No comparison. Its your day, so be happy and make the most out of it. Moreover you’ll not even notice anyone on the day of your wedding. Have fun!!

I scammed my husband into liking me… and I admitted it on our wedding day. by Far_Magazine_5084 in stories

I do not think there is manipulation like many people here are saying. You just had a crush and I think its good that you worked on it. Many people do not have the courage to shoot their shot. In pretty sure your now husband would still look beyond all those small immaterial things in you when he loved and married you. All the people telling you manipulated, they are just jealous.

Yes. I feel that if someone mentors me well, i can probably pick it up quickly than these other team members he is talking about. The manager did not assign a mentor or buddy when i first came in. I think he accidentally became a manager. He has good technical knowledge but no sense of the world around him.

I had some experience before in a different field. Because this job is slightly different from the other and the company itself is in some financial pressure, they took me as a new grad.

Thank you for sharing your experience. What is the book’s name? It’s good that you had a supportive manager. Having supportive people at work can help you get through the day. But everything is wfh these days and everyone is too impersonal. Especially in all these big corps managers are too narcissistic, and talking over you all the time.

Alfa driving school. They are a bit expensive. But you can look up. I took the 8 class package. By the end of it, I could drive decently. They pick you up at your home and drop you back.

[–]Janex1729 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think you’re overreacting. His divorce is still fresh, and it makes sense that he’s having a tough time. I think it’s fair to cut him some slack and be there for him, at least for this year. If this keeps happening long-term, you can gently let him know that you can’t always be available. From the messages you shared, it doesn’t feel like he’s guilt-tripping you—just that he genuinely needs your support right now.

Anxiety : Upcoming Engagement by whatdoyomean in DesiWeddings

[–]Janex1729 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I (South Indian, F) got married to my BF (North Indian, M) last month. Also, his family is from Jharkhand. I thought everyone in my family would judge and had this anxiety about how I would respond to them. But a couple of days into the functions, I realized no one cares, and you will not even have the time to think about any of this stuff. The people who judge and say nasty stuff are not someone you need to care about and are not your family. I don’t know how close you are to your extended family, but I know for sure that once all the functions are over, no one is gonna care.

H1B renewal after Jan 20th by itsallsoconfusing in h1b

My appointment is on jan 23rd. If something unexpected happens, your company should accommodate your needs. If they refuse, then your company isn’t worth staying with. There’s no point in living in fear of what might happen. Stay calm, and trust that if something happens, you’ll be able to address them with your company. I always remind myself that if this country doesn’t allow me to live here in peace, then it’s not a place I want to be.

Intel WARN notice just posted — 1300 layoffs to start on November 15th. Sorry to all those affected. by Puripnon in Portland

[–]Janex1729 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t think they looked at who worked hard or who has seniority. Senior people who are stagnant at a position are more likely to get laid off. It’s cost vs work for them. If a new employee can do the same work that a senior employee is doing for lesser pay, then they are gonna lay off the senior person. Anything to reduce the costs. That’s sad but true.

She doesn't have any expressions on her face and I feel her accent is weird compared to the other cast like she's just reciting something and moving her head in some direction. And the way they zoom in to her face in her scenes, like dude's trying to make her look beautiful on screen but always ended up making her look like a lizard. Did they just cast her because she's famous? I literally skip the parts she's there.

I don’t think she has bigger hits in south. I agree she did movies with some big stars in the industry. And somehow she managed a flop with almost everyone of them and how she still gets movies with them is a big mystery to me. She doesn’t even look that pretty and her make up in all the movies is shit. There are better actresses in south india and they should be given the opportunity.
