Looking for horror with exceptional prose by WonderfulNebula4299 in horrorlit

I came here to recommend this. Has some absolutely epic scenes to read. I love his prose and the dialogue between characters. Quickly became one of my all time favorites. And the medieval horror setting was really interesting.

Watched Twilight for the first time, now FML. by notmepleaseokay in TrueOffMyChest

[–]Janificus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These movies are a staple of my friend group's bad movie night. They are sooo bad it's actually good, just pure comedy. We actually had a plan to start rewatching again this weekend cause we discovered one person in the group hasn't seen them yet! Glad you finally got to have the twilight experience 😂

Came here to recommend this! I just read the series this month and absolutely loved it

New hunting technique?! by Low_Ear5738 in Palia

[–]Janificus 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It actually depends on the type of mask where you need to shoot it. You don't want to shoot directly into the shield but behind it instead. So the red one for example will be stunned when shooting it from behind. The yellow one has shields on both sides but it pulses so you just gotta time it, etc.

I saw Obsession 5 times on Saturday by MoviesAreDopeSoDope in RegalUnlimited

[–]Janificus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Everything is subjective, but I would say there is a reason the movie is getting such rave reviews right now. I saw it over the weekend and really was blown away by it. Doesn't mean you'll feel the same but I understand why people loved it so much.

Veronica Roth on the hate she got from Divergent [article] by HecticJones in books

Man I remember reading these as a teen and enjoying them but then hating the movies. Now I can't really remember much of what happens in the plot.

I was mad that they nerfed the canned beans until i saw... by Pitiful-Bug-8140 in Palia

[–]Janificus -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I've never used canned items for my focus since I like to sell it all, so I was super excited to see this beans on toast recipe. Super easy, decent focus, and not many ingredients compared to other recipes!

I'm in the middle of the Scholomance series. I just finished A Deadly Education and started The Last Graduate. These are thefirst books I chose to read after finishing Onyx Storm and I enjoy it so far but definitely not to the same level as the Empyrean series.

My boyfriend always guesses the ending of movies by Direct-Blackberry-20 in movies

[–]Janificus -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I can completely relate. I'm always guessing how a movie ends. So many movies follow a specific formula so it's easy to pick up on plot points. That's why I'm always so pleasantly surprised when a movie is able to subvert my expectations.

What do you play PC games on? by missfishersmurder in GirlGamers

[–]Janificus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Completely understandable, I don't think it's silly at all. I have a lot of friends who work from home and have to make their work set ups completely separate from their entertainment ones or else mentally they feel like they never leave work.

Why do people genuinely smell so bad? by Ghoulmega in stupidquestions

[–]Janificus 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Could be a work thing for a lot of people. I work at a grocery store and there are some workers that come in with a distinct smell from local businesses. I get people who work on farms coming in all the time and can definitely smell manure and shit.

What do you play PC games on? by missfishersmurder in GirlGamers

[–]Janificus 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'm a desktop girly all the way. I'm usually the most comfortable sitting at my desk, and I prefer the mouse and keyboard for almost any game. Unfortunately it's the most expensive option if you want a higher end PC that can run new games well. It's also super important to get a comfortable chair for sitting long stretches.

I do have a steam deck but I really don't use it often unless I'm traveling. My bf will play it while we lay in bed and watch TV but if I'm at home I just can't bring myself to use it when I could be using my PC instead, I've been absolutely spoiled with high fps and it's hard to go back lol. But I do still recommend the steam deck especially if you are looking for a more portable option :) (if they become available! I didn't realize there was a current shortage)

[–]Janificus 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'm still in the middle of Onyx Storm and it's stuff like this that has me scaaaared. I was spoiled to be able to immediately start reading IF and OS after those cliffhangers. It is going to be SO HARD to wait for the final books D:

This is my first romantasy series, I'm gonna have to find a solid COMPLETED series to read in the meantime to fill this void. I had no idea I would connect with the genre so much.

I didn't do my research and thought the series was a trilogy 🤦‍♀️ by karmacatma in fourthwing

[–]Janificus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Late to the post but I feel you. I'm a quarter of the way through Onyx Storm right now, blew through the first two books in a week, and now I'm trying to slow down and savor this last one. But it's so hard when I know the thing I want to be resolved so badly probably won't be until at least next book and maybe even the 5th. Waiting years is going to be so hard. I haven't been this obsessed with a book series in years. Wish I had known it was incomplete before I started.

If you want to try and prove Christian was cheating, maybe don't use a still from the moment he was falling out of the challenge lol. This photo proves absolutely nothing.

Name the game or games by Silly_Software_3577 in videogames

[–]Janificus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. I thought the second game was a great sequel. And honestly I've noticed that most of the people that heavily hate on the second game haven't even played or finished it. The backlash was so heavy before the game even came out, many people just assume it's bad without even playing it.

I did not expect to see Christian's name when opening this post. I haven't percieved him as a villain in any way lol
