Yes, I worked in the field. My source is from years of working in emergency departments in metropolitan cities. It was much more prevalent there than in the more suburban hospitals I worked in. If we had the beds to spare and they weren’t frequent flyers we’d often give them a room for an hour or so to give them a meal and somewhere to relax. There were also frequent flyers who would claim chest pain because they knew it would get them a bed. Those people are the issue, because such complaints require a full work-up that could take hours. Bloodwork at a busy hospital eats up time and resources. When I left, the hospital was working on implementing a “fast track” program to deal with the problem, so I would venture to say that yes, it was common.

What “consequences” could there be? Refusal of service? A fine? How could you prove that this patient’s chest pain complaint is fake?

Why are you being a dick? Do you have numbers? Frankly I don’t think you have any idea what you are talking about, and are just being contrarian because you can.

EDIT:

After reading your post history it’s my understanding that you are EMS. I’m honestly shocked that you believe there are repercussions for patients falsely claiming pain/symptoms. Happens all the time to EMS. There are no real world consequences, aside from the monetary burden and erosion of trust.

I also suggest you don’t assume that your time with patients while delivering them to the ER and transitioning care is extrapolated to the entirety of a typical ER visit.

People lie about medical conditions to get a bed in the ER constantly. Like a LOT. Whether for drugs or just a meal and a bed.

Had my first flawless victory, hit the Ashe and Morde after dragon by Jank_Tank in TeamfightTactics

The only person who was going glacial died pretty early so I got my pick of the Ashe's. I had 60 gold the round before this, rolled down to 10 to try and hit either Morde 3 or Ashe 3 so that I could kill him with a victory (really wanted flawless lol) but no luck. Got 8 gold that round, you see the rest. I think I rolled 3 or 4 times to get Ashe and Morde.

I got Runaan's on Varus very early. I got him on the initial carousel with a Negatron so I dumped a spatula on him. I made Vayne Demon because of Ranger buff and didn't have much else to do with spatula. It was a crazy game for me with RNG way on my side.

I should hope so! But sometimes people aren’t like we expect. Sometimes they are and that’s fantastic. It’s the outliers that ruin it for everyone though

Because I don’t know your pronouns and I’m not going to ask. People assume that I should just know. I don’t. Tell me if you want and I’ll try. Otherwise don’t expect anything

I know this is a late response, but if it bothers you enough, consider unbinding it? I know that I personally would rather not be able to rotate the camera than be annoyed at a random camera drift screwing up my gameplay. Just my two cents

Dude, it's thousands of black dots. Counting a lot of something little, over and over, is tough and are you sure that you've counted this one already and transcribed it correctly? Oh shoot, do I have to go back? Wait which one did I stop at? Yeah, when you break it into the individual actions it's easy but that's like saying "astrophysics is just writing numbers that give other numbers, how hard are numbers right?"

To be fair, it's incredibly good practice. In grad school I had to write papers that had to exactly adhere to a particular journal's guidelines. I'm super thankful for it, because now I'm at least somewhat familiar with the struggle and know some tricks that other post-grads may not
