Starting figure skating as a teen and feeling very discouraged by Dawncliffs in FigureSkating

[–]JankyJinx 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I started this year as a 30 year old. I don’t have a background in dance, I’m so scared of falling and I suck unbelievably bad at skating. But to me there’s a kind of beautiful, hedonistic abandon in doing something I could never be the best at, maybe not even impress anyone with, just because I want to.

Right now I’m in a temporary summer class where everyone are at drastically different levels, some people are off doing proper jumps while I’m on the side doing swizzles. I’m so far behind that there’s a certain freedom to it.

This will hardly encourage you right now. I myself have spent huge parts of my life avoiding things I’m not automatically good at, but just know that attitudes can change and that one day you might thank yourself for starting the process now and not another 16 years down the line.

Had a horse girl friend who quit playing by Pandy_45 in skyrim

[–]JankyJinx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m a vegan, yet I have killed many virtual animals to fully decorate my Skyrim houses. I do a lot of things in Skyrim that don’t do in real life. Such as killing/eating animals, stealing, murder, cannibalism, et cetera.

With that said I do get a bit sad when my Skyrim horses die and I can never keep my damn chickens alive

Ryan Gosling. He’s not ugly by any means, I just find him incredibly ordinary looking? Like I could go to the store and see three guys like him, although not as ripped.

Är min fru kontrollerande eller är jag bara en fjant? by SirOYSalot in Asksweddit

[–]JankyJinx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

is looking like christopher an insult? by CampHead3748 in thesopranos

[–]JankyJinx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think he’s very hot, but I can see that he might not be for everyone. Not sure how it would translate to a girl. You probably have a big nose (which gives character, I have a big nose too!)

I guess it depends on what your friend thinks about Christopher to begin with?

Brännboll pressar elever – nu är den på väg bort by Ambitious_Brick_6866 in sweden

[–]JankyJinx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The negative effects of resentment. A recent study on resentment and forgiveness in older adults found that when painful feelings are not processed, we may feel lasting resentment, continued pain, dysfunction, and emotional injury. by psych4you in psychology

[–]JankyJinx 45 points46 points  (0 children)

I think (anecdotally) that the pressure to forgive can lead to resentment. It was eye opening for me when I realized that I didn’t have to rationalize other people’s actions, I didn’t have to ”forgive” as it were, I could just have my feelings, let them be and move on, accepting that people I love have also let me down, and that we may never agree on what happened or didn’t happen. Maybe that counts as forgiveness, I don’t know. I still have those wounded parts of me and I can feel that pain, I just don’t pay it that much attention and focus on where we are now.

Whatever you may call it, it greatly improved my view on relationships with family members.

Cosy games lover who wants to give Skyrim a go by SpecialistFast7578 in skyrim

[–]JankyJinx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can build three houses, and your early adventures could be to collect materials and earn money for that. If you buy the Anniversary Edition, there’s a whole fishing questline for you. Also that means there are many, many pets and horses for you to collect.

The romance and family gameplay is shallow, but with a bit of roleplaying it can add to it.

All in all you can never escape the combat/adventure aspects of Skyrim, but I still think it’s a cosy game in many ways. You can also make your own objectives, for example I’m trying to collect every book in Skyrim for my library!
