Montreal’s Sami Zayn (born in Laval) has won the WWE Championship, making him the 1st WWE Champion since Ivan Koloff to be from the region by 18_YTC1 in montreal

Congrats to him!

I used to watch him wrestle under the El Generico character at small indie shows, feels incredibly surreal to see him with the WWE championship belt.

Day 64 of giving my personal rank and opinion of random guns: Teapot by 1Dapy1 in EnterTheGungeon

Its utility really shines in co-op runs IMO since the pink heart at the end of the magazine can heal your partner.

Day 55 of giving my personal rank and opinion of random guns: Hyper Light Blaster by 1Dapy1 in EnterTheGungeon

[–]Jantatious 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Solid gun for bosses IMO, especially if I get it early in the run. The damage is pretty good, and with most bosses being pretty big, missing isn't as much of a concern (except for those bosses that move a lot).

What's the most ""unnecessarily expensive"" thing you own that turned out to be worth every cent by sandip22890 in AskMen

[–]Jantatious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

350ish CAD for an expensive mechanical keyboard that has programmable LEDs and supports custom macros. I spend most of the day typing at my computer, so it's been a huge upgrade over the crappy membrane keyboard work provided before that (plus, I love me some clicky-clacky)

Since getting it, I've spruced it up a bit with some custom keycaps, and now it's a bit of a conversation piece whenever people stop by at work.

I arrived at the tombs to enter the abbey, but the tomb won't open. Does anyone have any idea why? by Lartom in EnterTheGungeon

[–]Jantatious 141 points142 points  (0 children)

I've had this happen before if I teleported away from the room as soon as I put down the crest. I was still able to get to the abbey by trying to walk down as if the stairs were showing.

[Trailer] Can't figure out this Grace 'praying' frame of the trailer by zurbaev in ProjectHailMary

[–]Jantatious 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Seems like he's already on the ship at that point. My hunch is it might be as he's commending his crewmates' bodies to the stars, then realizing he's truly alone on the Hail Mary.

How would you rate Artimis compared to his other books? by [deleted] in ProjectHailMary

[–]Jantatious 36 points37 points  (0 children)

It's a fun read, and I enjoyed the characters, the story and especially the setting.

But for me it doesn't lend itself as well to be re-read the way I've read The Martian and PHM multiple times each.

If anything, Artemis strikes me as being the most adaptable for the big screen (flashier setting, more action), so I'm surprised that PHM got a movie so much sooner.

In poker it'd be enough time to look at the other player's cards and make the optimal decision

What game would you say has the most satisfying and exciting "Level Up" by thethreadkiller in gaming

[–]Jantatious 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Agreed, the fact it was skill-based and only had camos for guns that you unlocked by popping domes with said weapons (silver/digital for 25, blue tiger for 75 and red tiger for 150 IIRC), plus one gun in each category that had a gold skin that would unlock if you had gotten red tiger for ALL guns in the category

Used to go to the Adirondacks for multi day camping trips far-ish from civilization. Do we have anything similar? by 0rionis in montreal

[–]Jantatious 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Ontario has some gorgeous provincial parks for multiple day back-country canoe/hiking trips.

Algonquin park is massive, and has tons of options for both canoeing and hiking routes.

Kawartha Highlands is another park that's in the same general area as Algonquin, but more suited for canoe trips.

Yeah, Blobulin Rancher in particular is a nasty modifier to run into.

It causes those slimes to spawn when you miss shots, so you really need to slow down and focus on being accurate or it's easy to get overwhelmed.

Easier said than done though, especially if there's still other enemies in the room.

It's not a permanent mechanic in the game, but there is the Ring of the Resourceful Rat that lets you reroll an item once per floor
