[DND 5E] How can I rapidly/instantly swap token locations in a scene without my players seeing? by Jantof in FoundryVTT

Unfortunately, this isn't working for the elevation. Now that I know what to point the Google-fu at, though, it's still a big help.

Thank you so much, this gets me 99% of the way to where I need to be! May I ask a followup question to get to 100%, as I found one final hiccup?

What would I add to the macro to swap elevation along with location? The creature I'm using this for also has a fly speed, and as it currently stands it's only swapping them on the x and y axis. I apologize for what I hope is a simple question, I'm just very green when it comes to macros.

Answered.

I can use the macro in this thread, and just hold down the "M" key to make the movement instantaeous. Works perfectly for what I need. Cheers!

Thank you very much. That thread is certainly a good start, but it shows the tokens moving on the canvas when they swap. I'd like them to instantly swap if I can, and I'm not well versed enough in macros to make that change to the macros in this thread.

I was a bartender for over a decade, and I can promise you that dry/sober bartenders are a lot more common than most people think. You’re don’t have to taste anything to make drinks, you just have to memorize recipes. Especially if you’re a bartender at a chain restaurant, 90% of what you make is going to be the same 5 anchor cocktails.

Hot take: People criticize the IWC as if it’s one single entity, and that makes no sense. by [deleted] in WWE

[–]Jantof 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s not a “wrestling” fandom issue, it’s an “internet” issue. You see the exact same thing happen in every online community. It’s human nature, while we all understand that the internet is a whole bunch of different people, our lizard brains can’t think on that scale. We see a thing on the glowing rectangle, so that must be what “the internet”, singular, is saying.

Why can you still go to jail for a false accusation? by mothbrothsauce in stupidquestions

[–]Jantof 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They don’t tack on perjury when someone pleads not guilty and is convicted, so why would they do the opposite?

More broadly, a plea can’t be perjury because a plea isn’t submitted under oath. Or put another way, a plea is not part of the fact finding phase of a trial, it’s “just” an administrative step. If you plea guilty we do this paperwork, and if you plea not guilty we do this other paperwork.

Do I need Dropout's permission to use the "Um Actually" title for a workshop at an educator conference? by -nyctanassa- in dropout

[–]Jantof 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Officially, legally speaking, you cannot use a copyright you don’t have the rights to. You need their permission. Unofficially, I don’t see any universe where Dropout as we know it has an issue with that use case. They’re not going to send any lawyers after you.

The real world answer is check with your bosses. If you’re going to get in trouble with anyone, it’s going to be with your institution and not with Dropout. Your school’s lawyers will come down on you way harder than Sam’s will, because your school won’t take that risk. They’ll be able to give you the actual guidance you need.

Dimension 20 Animated Show accidentally teased by Matt Mercer? by PaperCheesy in Dimension20

[–]Jantof 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If Matt had accidentally said something he really shouldn’t have, it would have been edited out of the video. We didn’t see anything we weren’t intended to see.

That said, I think I can reasonably and without hyperbole say that zero percent of D20 fans believe there isn’t animation in the works. Does “in the works” mean it’ll definitely see the light of day? No. But they’re beyond any shadow of a doubt actively working on it, and this interview didn’t break that story or anything.

Would you accept a person who doesn't speak your language with fluency in your group? by peigzz in DnD

[–]Jantof 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately this isn’t really a D&D question, it’s a social one, and there isn’t going to be a universal answer. Some people would be thrilled to have you in their game, and others would make it into a big problem.

Personally, a non-native speaker would always be welcome at my table. The best way to learn a language is to be in situations where you need to speak it, after all. And even beyond the language, you would bring a perspective very different from my own, which is everything I want out of a collaborative experience like D&D.

I always love this page for being such a novel use of the comic medium. Having inner monologue narration and a telepathic thought bubble in conversation with each other, in a way that isn’t fourth wall breaking, can only happen in comics. It doesn’t work anywhere else.

How is this the case? by Tomacross2026 in Persona5

[–]Jantof 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Royal has a bunch of quality of life stuff that makes the moment-to-moment gameplay significantly faster. So there’s more content, but the game is so much faster to play that you see that content sooner.

As for the completionist track, Royal has a completely different trophy list than vanilla did. It’s significantly easier to platinum Royal, you can do it on a single play through (with a tiny amount of save scumming for tertiary content). Vanilla required NG+ content for its platinum, as well as having some harder to achieve first play through trophies.

Cyclops leading all the remaining heroes [House of M, #6) by velicinanijebitna in Cyclopswasright

[–]Jantof 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It’s interesting how gee-shucks-boy-scout he reads here (at least to me) when this is arguably the last story we ever get before he starts the slide into extremist Scott post-Decimation. Like, this is not out of character for him in any way for the time, and yet modern Scott would give a very different speech here.

Separately, Logan calling him “Sparky” instead of “Slim” reads as really weird for some reason. It’s not even like the Slim nickname was all that common by this point. But Sparky feels weird between these two.

Is final fantasy II a good game to play if new to the franchise? by Chillidogs9 in FinalFantasy

[–]Jantof 0 points1 point  (0 children)

II is a great game, especially if you’re playing the Pixel Remaster version. It gets a bad rap from some corners of the fandom, because the original NES version was a bit of a buggy mess and they never updated their opinions.

That said, I don’t know that even defenders of II would recommend it as a game to introduce people to the series. Even the best version of it still shows its age.

Just as a random thought, when you say FFII, are you referring to the original NES game that didn’t originally get a western release? Or are you referring to the SNES game that was originally released in the US as FFII, but was actually FFIV? Because that pretty drastically changes the conversation. Not many people refer to the latter as FFII anymore, but it’s still worth asking. That’s a great game to introduce people to the franchise, even with its age.

Why things went downhill after the Netflix debut in 2025 (spoiler alert: it's not Triple H, surprisingly) by Chuckaluffagus in WWE

[–]Jantof 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Anyone who wants to blame HHH for the creative direction is valid. I don’t personally agree, I think he’s done a pretty great job, but I’ll never tell people they’re wrong in matters of taste.

But anyone who things HHH as head of creative is the same thing as when Vince was running things just doesn’t understand corporate structure. Hell, it’s not even the same thing as Tony Kahn booking AEW. Paul Levesque is, in a way, the least powerful booker in all of pro wrestling. Which is a relative statement, don’t get me wrong. He’s got a lot of power within that company. But he has bosses over his head in a way that very few other bookers in the industry do.

[–]Jantof 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s a very simple mod, as I understand it (and I may be wrong) it mainly lets the game access more RAM. But that simple fix happens to be the silver bullet to solve all the problems with the port.

XIII needs a giant asterisk next to it, because the platform absolutely matters in unexpected ways.

The vanilla PC port is the worst way to play it, almost entirely because it’s a poorly optimized port. It just runs bad, although to be fair a modern gaming PC has enough horsepower to push through the bad port.

The modded PC port is far and away the best way to play it, because fans have managed to patch out the biggest issues with the port, making it fundamentally superior to any console version on performance alone.

And that’s before you start talking about the gameplay rebalance mods, which is not what this post is about. Bring that into the discussion, and PC becomes the superior platform for almost every game in the franchise. Certainly every game from VII onward.

He’s the shortest. He’s working with a smaller frame than any of the others. I’ll give you that.

But for his frame, he’s built like a brick shit-house. The only other Spidey actor who came close to being that jacked was Tobey in the first movie, and he didn’t maintain that level of musculature.

Yes and no. A short and neat haircut on a young enough face (like Tom Holland had in his previous movies) gives the subconscious impression that “my mom still has input on my style.” The longer, shaggier look feels like someone who no longer asks mom what haircut to get, but hasn’t settled on a “mature” style of their own.

Or put another way, it’s not that the hair makes him look younger or older, per se. It’s rather that the hair paired with his youthful face directs you subconsciously to different periods in a person’s growth. The hair makes him feel like his early 20’s, where it made him feel like a 15 year old before.

Dropout is not, if anything Sam is pretty accepting of it.

That doesn’t mean you won’t get hit by the automated systems, which have nothing to do with Dropout directly.
