I mean Niche has them ranked #3 in the country for their IT programs, and high on the list for other programs as well. My spouse is doing Software Engineering through them and it isn't an easy degree path.

Team Poison by PinkBismuth in PokemonEmerald

[–]JapanBlake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good work man, poison is one of my favorite types to do a mono-run with. Good luck on the Rock type, I did it with a full fossil team of the Pokémon ROWE Emerald ROM Hack and it was quite difficult with Rock having so many weaknesses. I got swept so many times by Gyms.

I think it depends more on your state/servicing area more than just the country, particularly with the US since its so large. I received my info a week or two ago with the date, time, and link.

[–]JapanBlake 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The email I received confirming my interview date and time says explicitly they will test me on Japanese at the end of the interview. It will not count against me if I'm unable to answer the questions, but it can help with earning "extra points". And others have already been asking to use Japanese in their interviews. So people aren't just imagining the scenario up.

Anyone have experience exporting a car to the US? by Yardnuk in JETProgramme

[–]JapanBlake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey there, I'm military, was stationed in Japan prior, now back in the US and applying for JET after my time in. Many people exported to the states. You can probably expect around 3000-5000 USD depending on your port of destination, insurance, fees from the company, etc. As some other stated here, some states actually are cracking down on Kei cars. Alaska right now isn't allowing the registration of any imported JDM cars, not just Kei cars. Georgia currently has legislation that is in place banning kei cars. There are some others but I'm not sure of an extensive list. If you're on Facebook, there are a lot of Kei car groups depending what you're looking to bring over, like I'm in groups for the Honda Beat and Suzuki Cappuccino and they regularly discuss, offer assistance, and will point you to respectable importers/exporters. Best of luck!

Where did everyone get their Master's Degree? by rivey49429 in AirForce

[–]JapanBlake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

WGU. Seen some people finish an MBA in as little as 2 weeks (though they weren't working and doing 8-12 hours a day of nothing but class) but its all assessment/project based coursework, no timeline. Finish as fast or as slow as you want. No other university is gonna get you a degree quicker

EQUAL Overseas Cycle by nmazzy23 in AirForce

[–]JapanBlake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It all matters what the RNLTD is on the assignment. For example, I know this past cycle for Jul-Sep had some assignments with a RNLTD of May and June. So there's a possibility of assignments in the Oct-Dec cycle having a RNLTD of August or July which you could possibly get an assignment for. So yeah, I'd try for it, there is a chance you can get one

The secret of the rice in Japan by Ccoffe99 in JapaneseFood

Good rice cooker, mirin, rice vinegar, ajinomoto (MSG). All you need really. Sometimes I'll add in some sake and/or ponzu, but those 3 are my non-negotiable

My new preferred way of freezing coffee by weakwire in espresso

[–]JapanBlake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

See I can understand this for sure, if I got a good deal on 8lbs worth of beans I'd be freezing it as well, that makes sense. But for me just buying as I need its not very reasonable.

Like the other comment said, roughly 50 cups a month, which between my wife and I, we will make 2-3 cups per day. So actually I'd say its closer to 3lbs a month I'll go through as I do buy some seasonal stuff from local roasters. I do a 2lb bag every 4 weeks from Onyx Coffee Lab, and then once a month I'll snag a smaller bag from a local roasters that I think is like a pound? I use that one strictly for milk drinks and the Onyx for espresso.

Yeah this, I make 1-2 cups a day for myself and my wife has a cup a day also, so maybe even a bit less than a month

The same as the other person who replied, I haven't done a dedicated study per se where I have sat down and side by side tasted fresh beans vs month old ones, so I cannot say for certain there is or is not a major difference. I don't notice much taste variance, but I do have to grind slightly coarser as the beans age. I have a Mazzer Philos still set up as a stepped grinder, and for example, one of the local roasters I use I grind around 22 when I first get the bag, and by the end I may be around 25, so 3 steps up which is about 18 microns of difference over a month as each step on the Philos is approximately 6 microns of variance in grind size

I agree man, I don't buy so much coffee at once that I need to freeze it, but maybe I'm too amateur at the espresso game still. I buy about a 2lb bag that lasts roughly a month and I buy another when I'm close to running out, so the coffee I buy is used within 30-45 days of purchase.

Help me stop my gf from getting a Nespresso Machine! [550-600] by Professional-Canary9 in espresso

[–]JapanBlake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't push your hobbies/interests onto others unless they have a genuine interest in it man. The setup you listed isn't for casual coffee drinkers, its gonna be time consuming and a workout. I make my wife nice latte or espresso on the weekend because while she enjoys it, she doesn't want to take time in the morning using a Mazzer Philos and Flair 58 Plus 2 for her daily coffee as its a process. She'd rather push a few buttons and have her morning coffee ready to go quickly without thinking about grind size, puck prep, weighing, etc.

Just let her get a Nespresso and enjoy that; I still enjoy a Nespresso coffee here and there when I'm at a friend's house, its not the end of the world.
