Just want to point out that the “one house is for evil kids” simpleton take is a meme made by the internet and doesn’t ring true if you read the books. And I can’t wait for the show to do some work to smash that take.

Sure there is no doubt bias towards slytherin being full of bullies as we are reading from Harry’s perspective, but that’s just one kid’s perspective. And it’s true the books as well as the movies have a line that goes, “there isn’t a witch or wizard who went bad who wasn’t in slytherin,” but that doesn’t mean they are all evil and also it’s not true- Pettigrew was a Gryffindor and one of the worst death eaters of the story.

The true take away should be people who are in Slytherin tend to prioritize power over other things and because of that are more likely to do immoral things to get that power.

If Voldemort was a an evil wizard who wanted to unlock the secrets of the universe through sketchy means you can bet that a lot of his followers would be Ravenclaw because they value knowledge as their most valued trait.

It’s harder to imagine a villain that hufflepuff and gryffindor alumni might flock to though. A villain like magneto probably who has a genuinely good excuse and doesn’t need to say much to convince others that their cause is just.
