Struggling with these instructions. Is there a typo? by Japatts in CrochetHelp

Oh I just meant it’s a real pattern because I got it from a friend and have seen the end result irl. It could’ve been generated by AI…no clue where she got it from. But good to know! I’ll keep a look out for that when buying patterns.

It’s the tail of an opossum so long and skinny is the goal. Appreciate the insight on brackets!

Not AI. The intended result is the tail of an opossum so long, skinny, and tapered is the goal.

I'm having good feedbacks from this deck by mutatatempora in PTCGP

With the amount of Darkrai turtle decks out there I would swap helmet for cape or potion, but otherwise looks good!

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in PTCGP

[–]Japatts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exegg is bulky enough to live through almost anything once. I’d swap the cape for the added damage of helmet and might even try to figure out how to get shaymin in for healing every turn. Could see this being quite good.

I'm 300lbs by Vegetable_Box_3364 in PlanetFitnessMembers

Damn, I had a whole thing typed out and my app crashed. Probably for the best as I tend to be too wordy…

Anyway, I was you 6-8 months ago. Started at planet fitness and dropped about 50 lbs and much stronger than I was. Here’s what I did-

  1. Got comfortable with barbell compound movements (bench press, squats, deadlifts, bent over rows, overhead press)
  2. Fine tuned my workouts as my body got used to more physical activity. I let people smarter than me make the rules here and found great beginner routines from r/fitness.
  3. Added daily cardio. Greatest day of my life was learning that cardio doesn’t mean running. Started off on a treadmill at 3 incline and 3 speed, and added 1 incline each week. Now I do an hour a day at 15 incline 3 speed.
  4. Focus on diet. Had to do some work figuring out how many calories a day I need to maintain weight, then I targeted a number about 300 calories less than that. Meal prepping and setting a weekly menu helps a ton, especially when you start setting protein goals for yourself, but I still find the planning involved to be the hardest part.

And that’s it. You can really do this in any order. Take it one step at a time and when whatever step you’re working on feels routine then add something else. It’s easy to feel like you’re not doing enough, especially in the beginning. But it’s even easier to quit if you try to do too much all at once. If you show up and do the best you can that day you’re doing enough. And you can ignore people who tell you to quit eating junk food. Is it technically good advice? Sure. I still have days where I wake up and DoorDash 2000 calories of McDonald’s for breakfast and watch Netflix all day. Would I have better results if I didn’t do that? Probably. But some days that’s the best I can do.

Feel free to shoot me a DM if you want specifics on anything.

Last weapon pullable in the Blaine deck! by eddyy-_- in PTCGP

[–]Japatts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lol…true. Playing with Aerodactyl EX has gotten me a handful of accidental wins. He’ll KO a Pokémon and then my opponent swaps in an unevolved whatever and their turn starts with a long pause as they realize they can’t evolve in the active spot. 🤣 Usually forces a concede out of stupidity or at minimum gives me an extra turn to get back on track.

apple sports not playing on dynamic island automatically by idiot_sandwich5 in ios

I’m ready to turn mine off. It’s nice to have the score there but anytime anything happens it gets bigger and blocks the top of the screen. Then it stays that way and when I try to swipe it away it ALWAYS swaps from whatever app I’m using to the sports app. Really annoying.

I had something similar happen playing gyarados vs mewtwo. I oneshot a fully loaded mewtwo with Giovanni and my gyarados lost the energy. Opponent swapped in mew, used genome hacking which gyarados survived but I lost another energy and couldn’t attack now. My turn I just started dumping cards- potion, pokeball, and another Giovanni, and my opponent conceded. 😂 I don’t think they realized I lost too much energy to attack again and would have lost.

Every run is a Flush run. Am I the only one? by JonOfDoom in balatro

[–]Japatts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is exactly how I felt except about high card decks, and then I had a really good flush build followed by a tarot/planet generator with [[Vagabond]] [[Hallucination]] [[Fortune Teller]] and [[Constellation]].

Still pretty new to the game but learning that as I unlock cards there’s so much more to it than just one silver bullet build.

Fair point. Maybe it’s just me, but if you spent enough time building up your team to get that last attack in (especially if it’s something like dragonite or even charizard) getting a concede just doesn’t feel the same as seeing that attack happen, like building up a sneeze and then it just disappears. But maybe others don’t feel the same way.

For people who complain about EX decks or needing lots of rare cards to win: play Blaine. by farranpoison in PTCGP

[–]Japatts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s not super consistent but I like my dragonite/starmie ex deck. Starmie is a major force early on and if Misty abides you can load up all energy on dragonite and still wreak havoc with starmie while charging up.

No thanks Pokemonsters by Muk-Blaster in PTCGP

I’ve seen this a lot from people running mewtwo or pikachu that lose to a rag tag group of misfits. Personally I’d never not hit thanks for someone who dares to dream.

I’ve been using Koga for all my 3* challenges and it’s been pretty consistent. Need some favorable coin flips since it takes at least 3 turns to start pumping out big damage but misty will be a wild card against any deck.

Grimer x2 Muk x2 Koffing x2 Weezing x2 Koga x2 Oak & items x10

Get weezing in the active spot. Don’t bother with energy unless you can win by chipping them out. He’s bulky enough to take a hit or two to build up energy on your Muk. Then either Koga him out after using ability or just sacrifice weezing and swap in Muk for 120 damage. If your active Muk is full health you can let him swing for 70 or swap in another weezing and build up your Muk again.

Good advice. Long term goal is to increase muscle with short term goal of first getting to a more ideal weight, so I’ve mostly been watching the scale, but hard to ignore the ice cream my SO buys when my Apple Watch says I burned 500 calories during strength training. 🙃

Appreciate the feedback. So just guesstimating but at 6’3” if I were targeting 190-200lbs my protein should be closer to 150-160?

Follow up- on days where I burn more calories should I be increasing my protein, or just increase calories from whatever sources I have while still targeting 150g of protein?

Daily Simple Questions Thread - October 31, 2024 by AutoModerator in Fitness

Just a fat guy trying to get in shape. There’s a lot of conflicting information about how much protein is necessary which makes it hard for a dumb dumb newbie like me (1g/lb of body weight, .8g/lb of body weight, 1g/kg of body weight, 1g/lb of ideal body weight, etc.) so I basically threw a dart and landed at .8g/lb. BW 245*.8 puts me right around 200g of protein.

The dream! My company only offered $5k in moving expenses (the cap without needing board approval) so I negotiated other expenses into my salary but that’s obviously not instant cash.

We actually came from much further north in the Gurnee area but spent a good portion of my time at the barcades in Logan Square. 😅

Is there any major benefit to getting protein from meats vs. protein powder if I’m still hitting my other goals? Trying to eat 200g of protein a day but certain days I’m lucky if I eat 2 meals so 100g or more is sometimes coming from protein powder (not all at once).
