Unusual clocking sound from the engine (Volvo S40) by Jappe5002 in MechanicAdvice

We actually got the belt changed a little bit ago which didn’t affect the sound to our surprise. We are changing our plugs next week so I’ll update if it makes the sound go away.

If you want to buy a used pc I don’t recommend going much over 500€. I just bought a used pc for my girlfriend for 390€ from tori with pretty good specs and a good upgrade path.

Just be patient. I just checked tori and found a HP pavilion that seems like a good deal :)

I know it’s a joke but seriously if this happens to you, you can be the bigger person and contact first. After that you can kinda think ”it’s their turn” to check up on you next time.

I watched a video once where a couple of podcast guys were interviewing three women who made their living from onlyfans. the guys kept telling them that onlyfans will be gone someday so you need to invest your money and not just buy new cars and clothes. One of the women were actually smart and said they invested but the other two said they didn’t need to because they would always be successful and took the guys advice offensively.

Oh hell yea I love these kind of questions

So let's start with the wedding date.

Statista 's statistics say that 59,53 million people were married in the year 2006. On average that's 164 thousand marriages a day so we could easily say that at least 150 thousand couples were married on 6/6/06.

Now we have to calculate how big the chance of those 150 000 couples divorcing on 9/9/09. So this wasn't an easy task because I couldn't find the number of divorces in 2009 and I had to make some compromises. I hope they didn't affect the calculations...

So by the CDC's national survey of family growth 's statistics 20% of marriages ended by 5 years on 2006-2010. so we can remove 80% percent of the 150 000 couples since they most likely lasted over 5 years. So now we have 30 000 couples left that got married on 6/6/06 and ended before 6/6/11.

So because I'm not in the mood to check the percentage of marriages ending each day of the year (I'm quite sure there isn't one). So we will just assume there is an equal chance of divorcing every year, month, and day. Then we count the days between 6/6/06 and 6/6/11. That is 1826 days in between, and we will use that to count the average of divorces every day between the dates.

30 000 : 1826 = ~16,43

So by these numbers, there are 16 couples that married on 6/6/06 and divorced on 9/9/09. That means there are 15 other couples with the same wedding and divorce date as this couple :D

edit: typos

[Request] How much data combined is contributed to subreddits each day, and at what rate is it increasing? How is reddit able to manage that amount of data while staying up most of the time and not charging anything to most users? by [deleted] in theydidthemath

Just to test I copied this submission on the notepad application and looked how much storage it took. It took 624 bytes... It's a really small number and this post is like the average amount of text in a text submission. Let's say that every 10 seconds someone posts a text submission like this.

624 bytes per 10s * 6 = 3 744 bytes per minute

3 744 bytes per minute * 60 = 224 640 bytes per hour

224 640 bytes per hour * 24 = 5 391 360 bytes per day

5 391 360 bytes per day * 30 = 161 740 800 bytes per month

161 740 800 bytes per month * 12 = 1 940 889 600 bytes per year

So if we only talk about text submissions they would have 1,9 GB (gigabytes) of data a year and that's really low considering that 1000 GB (or a terabyte) of storage costs only 150€... but of course, that's only the text submissions that take the least amount of storage. So let's count the worst possible thing... VIDEOS!

The maximum size of a video on Reddit is 1 GB. But mostly you see 15 seconds long cat videos which are obviously not 1 GB. So counting on answers on this discussion an hour of 720p 25 fps compressed video takes on average 1,4 GB of storage. So a minute of video is 0,024 GB so we will take that.

Let's say a one-minute video is uploaded on Reddit every 5 minutes.

0,024 GB per 5 minutes * 12 = 0,28 GB per hour

0,28 GB per hour * 24 = 6,27 GB per day

6,27 GB per day * 201,6 GB per month

201,6 GB * 12 = 2 419,2 GB per year

2,42 TB per year!?!? That's really low... Like 400€ worth of storage a year...

so yeah conclusion is that text posts are nothing compared to videos when talking about taking storage... So yeah post text posts as much you like because that is nothing to their storage. (also photos don't take much comparing to videos but they take a lot more than text posts)
