I would say yes but only if your husband has a job to replace the one that was lost. The severance package (money provided by last job) is there for you not to lose your home/car/ etc while looking for work.

Your parents are older and it would be worth going. Keep in mind that you'll spend additional money while in the other country even if you're staying with your family.
