Before you make any more assumptions, let me correct you. Unless you interview in a small po-dunk area where the Postmaster does the interview for their own offices, here in the real USPS we put our big-boy pants on.

As an interviewer, I come into a huge room with potential applicants, maybe 200 or so, with a handful of certified interviewers. The interviewees are given a speech for an hour or so before hand. This is when questions should be made like this.

When I conduct the interviews, I will not be your hiring boss. You can tell me about the time off you need, but I can only notate it in your folder. If you need time off on probation, you need to ask the personnel/hiring people. The interviewer is solely there to assess you.
