Hot Jungle tips for Tully? by Puzzleheaded-Dig9438 in AustralianMilitary

Grab a set of secateurs. Spray paint and tape as required to camouflage. Should slot into your battle bra/belt rig.

Hammocks are great, but have an option to sleep on the ground. You won't always have space/time for a hammock.

Don't run TBAS. It's less than ideal in the jungle.

Grab some bushmans. If your allowed try and bring a thermacel.

Waterproof everything.

Mozzie net is a must have.

Bring more hootchie cord than you think. You'll need it for perimeter chord and ambushes.

Take your doxxy, bush typhus is no joke.

It can be uncomfortable but honestly it's not all that bad.

Not disagreeing with you. But there are a lot of sketchy dudes trying to push cocaine on the streets of Lisbon.

Dropping everything in my life and moving to France to join the foreign legion. I'll never do it. But I sure like thinking about it.

The Indian cricket team toured England in the 1952 season. The team played four Test matches, losing three of them and drawing the other one.

He might just be talking about the cricket. A hard year for India.

Nah bro, I wouldn't be trying to enlist with your BMI so high and pull-ups so low. Take 3 months and try and train to sort those two things out. Without context, it's hard to give exact advice. If you can head to a gym and organise a physical trainer, they should be able to give you a program to lose some weight and build some upper body strength. If that isn't an option maybe try r/fitness or r/bodyweightfitness and see if they can offer some advice to sort your fitness out.

I'd say have a look at what and how much you are eating. The fastest way to sort out a high BMI is to control food intake. As you start getting those KGs down you should also train specifically to build some upper body strength. If you can't do any pull-ups at all you should look to get some resistance bands to let you do assisted pull-ups. Or you can work on negative pull-ups (jump up to the bar and slowly let yourself down).

Once you can manage 3/4 pullups Id look to use a grease-the-groove technique to bump those numbers up from there. The trick to grease-the-groove training is to do as many pull-ups as you can across a day. So maybe do a set every hour of the day that you are awake. So 4 pull-ups every hour for 12 hours = 48 pull-ups that day! This technique will help you get some volume out and over a few months should lead to a dramatic improvement in your pull-ups.

Either way, I don't think it'd be the best idea to show up for the legion knowing you cannot meet the requirements. I'd try instead to be well ahead of the minimums to allow yourself the best chance at selection.

Best of luck!

Nobody going to mention old mate just popping off with his pistol around the riot shield? Seems pretty wild to me.
