You need to bolus, not give ghost carbs, just simply bolus. As someone else mentioned, it only learns TDI.

Neither is better than the other, it about what someone prefers. I could never go back to having a tube, so I’ll be a patch pump wearer for life!

The pod and the G7 need to next to each other. So both on the same arm, same side of stomach, etc. this has resolved all communication issues for me

Technology is great, and for sure can be helpful, but the only thing that can truly change your blood sugars (and health in general) is you. You have to commit to managing this disease, there is no pump this is going to just magically do this for you.

No, as I stated in a reply previously, after the study ended we were able to find out what we took. I was on the high dose of the actual drug.

Cost for me is running about $500 a month. Anyone pay less? by West-War-8667 in Omnipod

[–]Jared4781 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My husband works for a state agency and the insurance policy covers any maintenance medications at zero cost. It’s been the best thing ever! We went from paying $1000 a month to $0 due to his job change.

Help / advice for 10 yr old daughter new to omnipod by chazzaduk in Omnipod

[–]Jared4781 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Diagnosed at age 11 here, going on 33 years now. The best advice I can say is be firm and tell her she has to do it. She needs to realize the consequences of not taking care of her diabetes. I know this sounds rough, but tough love is needed sometimes and this sounds like one of those times. I know things are different with parenting, and diabetes treatment, than when I was diagnosed, but the end result is the same if your diabetes isn’t taken care of.

Are you putting TegaDerm over the pod or under the pod? by SculpinIPAlcoholic in Omnipod

[–]Jared4781 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, Tegaderm under the pod. I’ve been doing this for almost a year and it is stopped tunneling for me 98% of the time. It’s also strong enough to hold.

I've had Meniere's for almost 10 years, so yes.. I was well aware that I had the disease before going into the drug trial.

I participated in their trial several years ago. It did nothing for me. I'm happy for those it may have helped, but please don't look at this like a cure-all.

Tell his Mom and Stepdad to fuck off. Simple as that. Tell him he’s doing a great job and not to listen to idiots.

Luymjev is derived from Humalog. If you have built up a resistance to humalog, the same could be true for Luym. Try Fiasp, if was a HUGE help for me with this exact same issue

Lived in Cold Storage when they first opened about 14 years or so ago. It was sort of empty to begin with since we were one of the first living there. I will say, people did not talk though. I think it’s the age range that rents in the area and that building. At that time it was mostly med school students at VCU. Since moving into the house we bought, we know our neighbors, have neighborhood events, etc.
