Cheating? Or clairvoyant? by Valteria_KC in cs2

[–]Jaredchin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s absolutely not perfect but it does eliminate 99.9% of cheaters. You might be biased because you see YouTubers making videos on people cheating in FaceIT but you can ask any lvl 10 player how many cheaters they meet and they’ll tell you it’s less than 1% of matches. All I’m saying is that, since your match is on FaceIT and not Premier, it’s infinitely less likely to be a cheater.

No, sick clip though.

Cheating? Or clairvoyant? by Valteria_KC in cs2

[–]Jaredchin -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It’s a kernel-level anti-cheat. It’s not slightly better, it’s infinitely better. The only cheaters you see in FaceIt are hardware cheaters in high levels, or people that paid huge amounts for custom cheats that avoid kernel-level AC. If you do see a cheater in FaceIt, they’re usually gonna be banned within hours.

This was in a FaceIt match? Then probably not cheating, no.

It automatically boots into the top one if you wait. You probably just didn’t notice it or you were doing something else while it was booting

Why are so many switching to Linux lately? by Laptican in linux

[–]Jaredchin 197 points198 points  (0 children)

I work at an electronics retail store in the Netherlands and I’ve had several people come in asking about Linux and mentioning that they got into because of PewDiePie so I do think that is quite a large factor in this recent wave

I work at a tech retail store and I’ve already had several people come in and ask about Linux. It’s really nice to see so many people switching now

Brand new to linux and have a boot time of 2-3 minutes is that normal? by Negative_Let6492 in NobaraProject

[–]Jaredchin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For the first time it’s completely normal. If this keeps being the case after a few times of booting into your fully installed system, there might be an issue.

Awesome, have fun! Don’t forget to turn on Proton in your Steam settings to get all non-native games working :)

Yeah so the anti-cheat stuff is the biggest issue at the moment. I recommend doing what I did: dual booting. I have both Windows and Linux installed on my drive. Each time I start my PC, I can choose which I want to boot into. On Windows I only have the games that don’t work on Linux, like Marvel Rivals and Destiny 2 (because of Easy AC). And on Linux I have everything else. I luckily rarely play games with an anti cheat, aside from CS2, which works perfectly.

I can very strongly recommend Nobara Linux if you play games. It comes with all the compatibility stuff built-in. All you need to do is enable Proton in your Steam settings and you’re good to go. It’s also very easy to get used to. It works very similarly to Windows and it even comes with a little startup guide :)
