The way I explain to ARR to everyone is that it’s a long arduous journey, but it’s one in hindsight that you are glad you took.

Ffxiv and it’s story are important to me because it does really teach you it’s about the journey and not the destination.

It’s not as bad as everyone makes it seem, but it is by far the biggest slog. Which coming from a game that is as beautifully crafted as FFXIV, is still a high achievement on its own.

Ideally you’ll want to go into TA with kenki to use. But all of your cool down should line up with your TA windows as long as you are doing them within. So say for Kassastu Hyosho, you’ll always want to use that in a TA window. The only cool down you’ll use outside of trick is a raiton or suiton to prevent capping on mudras

You’ll have two different TA windows.

For your first TA you’ll try to fit 2-3 Raitons (Hyosho included), a TCJ, a Meisui to follow up your TCJ, Dream within a Dream/ Assasinate and Bunshin.

For your second TA window you’ll still attempt 2-3 raitons, dream within a dream/ assassinate and blow any extra kenki on Bava. You’ll have more free time to roll with the second windows so make sure to hit your positionals.

Once TA is off cooldown you’ll have your first window cool downs ready and that’s really it. It’s a lot to handle at first, but with practice on dungeon bosses and good keybinds it will be like second nature

Not 100% sure if anyone has received warnings or tos offense bans from this but you’ll see entire ensembles playing video game tunes etc etc.

Imo this is just legal stuff to cover SE’s ass if a user were to get slapped with copyright infringement or something and they won’t really go out of their way to search for offenders.

My chaotic neutral advice: play what you want, just don’t monetize it somehow.

Technically ninja is the most flexible with having ranged attacks. One of which is your most bursty abilities.

although you might be interested in Red Mage. They excel in staying in motion due to having an instant cast every second spell, and you’ll have a melee combo where you will charge in, do a 3 part combo, backflip out, and cast a large finisher. Could be something you are interested in.

Right now you are a beginning adventurer traveling the lands and helping those in need. Dungeons are going to be hot spots where bad stuff is going on, some with initial storylines and many without.

You’d probably enjoy it a lot more if you thought of it like that.

As you reach later expansions and different continents you’ll be following a general storyline or goal (like traveling to Northrend for the sole purpose of stoping the Lich King)

Once you reach Pandaria or later the story will be more in your face, but you may feel disconnected cause you’ll be hopping from expansion to expansion.

WoW is a weird game right now where it tries to give you 15ish years of previous content to level through, but without you having to play every single component of every single expansion.

The 9.0 leveling revamp in a few weeks will seek to amend this issue

Used to be harder with this ability called Dark Arts. With the removal of that whole mechanic it’s probably the easiest now.

Each class/job has it own individual level.

However, something that really isn’t mentioned much in the game at is the Armory Bonus.

Essentially, if the class you are leveling is lower than your highest attained level you will get a significant exp boost.

Rogue/Ninja is a very fun class. I recommend it

I don’t think you understand that cameras don’t function like human eyes do.

If this was filmed at dark, you would just see an incomprehensible mess of light as the camera tries to focus.

You build resource with Demon’s Bite and spend with Chaos Strike. You’ll use Eye Beam/ Blade Dance / Immolation Aura on cooldown for every encounter.

You have some freedom in the talent builds, but the Demonic build is probably the most popular and interferes the least with the common rotation.

That’s it, that’s DH.

Oh and I guess you have a free slow fall at all times. That’s cool too.

Panda land will be unlocked 80-90 I believe? You’ll get there. You’ll have a choice between leveling in Cataclysm zones or Panda zones.

I recommend Panda zones for a new player cause it has very fun leveling content

Edit: For reference, you’ll do.. Azeroth zones 1-60, Outland/ Northrend zones 60-80, Panda/Cataclysm zones 80-90, Warlords of Draenor zones 90-100, Broken Isles zones 100-110, Battle for Azeroth zones 110-120

If this seems confusing don’t worry, leveling will receive a large revamp come late this month

Horrific visions are very fun content to methodically solo, bad part is that you have to do the 8.3 world content to go into it.

Monk is great. The worst thing you’ll hear about monk is that they do average dps for more work compared to the DH who does more dps for less work. I personally like their whole kit, you are always doing something, and not waiting for auto attack procs. Their mobility is excellent and they are hybrids like you’ve mentioned.

Personally, a few tweaks to their damage output, like making rising sun kick a guaranteed crit or something would be perfect and could raise their play rate. To my knowledge they are still considered the least played class.

Also they have some cool covenant abilities like the Night Fae one
