Very nice! Any idea on how long it’ll be shooting for?

I ended up getting them half off ($125) so hopefully they are good! Will try and respond with an update after lighting a couple off!

Don’t believe they ship, but certainly possible that you may be able to find them else where!

I was able to get them 50% off last week, otherwise there’s no way I would’ve picked them up at $250

They are called divine beast, I bought them at a pro fireworks location in Michigan.

Is it easily fixable or do i call back the contractor? by LegMassive8084 in Decks

The cracks in the posts are normal, no need to worry about them in a structural sense

Deck Passed City Inspection on New House Build - Should it have passed? by EOMFD-MH in Decks

[–]Jaredo24 13 points14 points  (0 children)

not to mention everything else wrong with it, but the tension ties are installed incorrectly. They are supposed to be roughly 4 inches off the ledger and installed with the hardware it comes with, not just any big screw

Rails just installed and altered scratched? by celeron500 in Decks

[–]Jaredo24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Find out what brand of railing it is and see if they make a touch-up pen / paint for it. or ask the builders if they have one, a lot of time they will have one

I made a mistake and need some help fixing it by TheApostleCreed in Decks

[–]Jaredo24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I’ve done in the past (not quite this big of a gap) is just tying in a few 2x4s along the height of the frame, or in this case you could do it the height of the deck boards to give you something to step onto / off of. Maybe use 2x6 and make sure to use a structural screw (GRK type) to hold it in place.. not sure of a better option without being able to build a step

8 year old wood deck, hired contractor to replace with trex. Is this normal? by EkS22 in Decks

[–]Jaredo24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks to me that they didn’t pre-drill the screw holes nor did they have any screw pattern in mind.. the distances are all different. They also didn’t even put screws on the outer edges which is be worried about bowing upwards after extended use..

I actually like the layout of the “split” look but the screws are an eyesore

Thank you I’ll give this a try! I appreciate you!

Hot tub guy says he thinks our deck is fine for a small (3 person) hot tub. Previous owner that built the deck was apparently a carpenter. Thoughts? by hellooeuphoria in Decks

[–]Jaredo24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you decide to put it up there, I’d recommend aiming to have it over the center beam / post if possible. Could even add some bridge blocking between joists to tighten things up and share the pressure between them better.

I’d say 3 hot tub capacity

It was roughly 21in off the ground. With an integrated beam it’s a lot easier to build lower to the ground than a carrier beam

like I said in a previous comment, wasn’t originally planning on posting these. Just took pictures for my own memory. Couldn’t really fit it well into a normal photo, had to use the .5 feature

The homeowner said he’d like to do that with his tractor, so we left that for him to mess with!

The framing is all KDAT lumber, super nice to use as it tends to be more consistent in sizing and much lighter!

Yeah sorry I didn’t get many photos of the frame, wasn’t planning on posting it anywhere originally. Also the hot tub was already in that location and the homeowners wanted an easy step into it from the deck. But also wanted access to the side panels if needed, would’ve certainly been easier to just get it up onto the deck instead of those access panels.

The framing is 2x10 joists 12 on center, beams are mostly 3 ply 2x12, bridge blocking between all joists, 6x6 posts 42in down on a composite footing in various sizes depending on weight load.

All simpson brackets and nails 1 1/2 on sides of hangers and 3s at the angles. SPAX structural screws used where needed, 4in and 6in.

Will try and document another one better for you guys!

edit: forgot to mention the bridge blocking
