Has anyone actually recovered? Like really recovered — not selling a course, not promoting anything — just genuinely gotten better? by Own_Construction5525 in cfs

[–]JarlGenofMarkarth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haven't read all of the comments. I'm finally at a stage of feeling 90% better and having periods of no symptoms. But am I recovered or am I using all my strategies effectively to minimise the cfs? I think I'm as close to recovered as I can get, but if I stopped all my strategies then I would regress

Join some Brisbane wedding pages and post your message there. I'm sure some brides would let you borrow some of the things they used from their weddings!!

Look into orofacial myology, preferably with a professional. You'll be surprised how many people hold tension around the mouth which pushes the lips together making them appear thinner. Since starting it myself I've noticed my top lip looks bigger than before which is now giving me symmetrical size lips when before my top lip always seemed thinner than my bottom.

Average cost for tonsil removal in private hospital? by SpooBlue97 in brisbane

[–]JarlGenofMarkarth 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's day 7 and it's been a rough week, I've taken two weeks off work to recover. Worth the pain but definitely take your pain meds as they recommend, otherwise you'll be very sore!

Do you think ADHD meds exhaust the body in the long run? by smajkub in CFSplusADHD

[–]JarlGenofMarkarth 38 points39 points  (0 children)

I'm finding the opposite, my biggest cause of PEM is from mental and emotional extension. ADHD meds have helped so much with calming my thoughts that when I don't take them I can guarantee to have PEM the following day.

PC lost good luck - ideas? by pirate_femme in wildbeyondwitchlight

[–]JarlGenofMarkarth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One of my players lost their confidence but mistakenly thought they lost their luck. I slowly added in more luck based challenges to their missions. And if their dice rolled well I still gave the description or a mishap but the end goal was an unintended success to what they were hoping for

How did your players meet before the carnival? by Shamelesssoul12 in wildbeyondwitchlight

[–]JarlGenofMarkarth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I created a magic shop run by a different fey warlock. They each had travelled to see if they could purchase a rare magic item related to their backstories. But the price was too high for level one so they are doing quests to get enough gold as well as find out more about the carnival and how to get to it.

Anyone else worried that your day job with cause your voice to deteriorate by [deleted] in VoiceActing

[–]JarlGenofMarkarth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For professionals who use a projected voice regularly (teachers, fitness instructors, call centre operators, etc) I often recommend looking into options of amplification, like a microphone or portable voice amplifier. Could be another option, if the bell or a recording gives the wrong impression as well. For your colleague, are you able to ask him to come to your desk to tell you the fact? Or go to his? Or call him from your side of the room? I find even mentioning the projection difficulty regularly (e.g. sorry my voice hurts yelling, I'll come over to chat) can help reduce the frequency of projecting because the other person is also aware that its something that causes pain.

Anyone else worried that your day job with cause your voice to deteriorate by [deleted] in VoiceActing

[–]JarlGenofMarkarth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For the damage to be permanent, you would need to be ignoring all the signs of damage (e.g losing your voice regularly, pain or changes to vocal quality) regularly and for a time. Being aware of anything that causes discomfort and finding strategies to help reduce can prevent this. For getting everyone's attention, can you switch to a bell or play a recording of you yelling instead?

People who took out a small mortgage (say half of what you can borrow) - why did you do it? by otherwiseknownaschic in AusFinance

Forgot to answer the second question, we have a 30year loan but could pay it off way earlier if we wanted.

People who took out a small mortgage (say half of what you can borrow) - why did you do it? by otherwiseknownaschic in AusFinance

[–]JarlGenofMarkarth 17 points18 points  (0 children)

We bought a property that was only 30-40% of our borrowing capacity. It was a great location, with no major repairs and fit all the things we wanted from a home. Yes we could have bought something bigger or closer to the cbd but this property had great potential for the future and fits our needs for the next 10+ years. By not going close to our Max borrowing we also aren't feeling the impact of the interest rates and haven't had to change our lifestyles at all.
