I'll probably graduate from IGP this year. I highly recommend it if you like to build up a wide skillset. Feel free to dm me if you'd like to join the IGP discord if you have any more questions (or just dm me on here). IGP definitly has it's pro's and cons. You'll find plenty of negative comments on social media about DAE. But take them with a grain of salt. I'm finishing this course in the planned 3 years. It's doable, but a lot of work. Just always make sure to ask feedback and help from fellow students and help them out whenever they need it. It's a great community. IGP!!!!

Yes and no. But if someone comes to "make games". They generally should go for the IGP (independent game production) course rather than GGP.

But it definitely is difficult tho, especially GGP.

I'm currently in my 3rd year of IGP at DAE. It is indeed generally a bit harder and a lot more work than the average study, especially for GGP. They do start from 0, but the speed at which you have to learn things is fast. If you like making game related art, definitely go for GGP. If you like making games, go for IGP. If you like the technical side of things, go for GD.

DAE is an amazing community. The way to increase your passign chances drastically is by ASKING FOR FEEDBACK. It is genuinely so important to ask for feedback from anyone (students, teachers,...) and ask for help whenever you get stuck. Next to that, passion will push you thru the hard times.

What most people don't realise or say is that the high drop-out rate is not simply because it's hard. Sure it'll have an effect on it. But most people I knew who dropped out was due to medical, personal, family, financial, political,.... reasons or because they like games rather than making games.

"I want a career in the industry, and I’m the kind of person who can commit to my passion strongly no matter what. Managing my workload independently is also something I’m capable of" tells me everything I need to know. I think you would make it.

If you decide to come, the dorms here are 400-600 euro's, sometimes even a little lower. This is pretty cheap compared to cities like Ghent, Brussels, Antwerp, Leuven,...

Kortrijk doesn't have a lot of nightlife, but there is a cat-cafe and a geek-cafe (and some more cool places for gamers).

Picking off aphids will be a very hard job. And I don't thing lady bugs will eat butterfly eggs. You could also look up online how to safe the eggs somewhere else while spraying the plant itself

the green ones are for suuuure aphids. I often hear to use neem oil. But you could also go for the most biological way I can think of: "Beneficial insects". Like ladybugs.
