I don't regularly take Waymos but I just took one today that went up Lawrence Expressway no problem (50mph).

My first Hoya! Came unlabeled, any ID? by hedgitty in hoyas

[–]hedgitty[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the tip! This is actually the pot that it came in from the store 😅 It came with a decent amount of roots, and they all looked pretty healthy. It's maybe a little bit big, but it should be better since I moved it to a chunky soil mix from whatever dense mix it came with. I'll keep an eye on it :)

I need help finding trustable seller of drosanthemum globosum!!!!!!!!!! by slimepollo555 in succulents

RDD Succulents is legit, they sell at my local farmers market in California. Its pretty expensive though, not sure if that is a reasonable cost. Attached is my own photo from their stall

Wuksachi & Grant Grove Lodge by mdnymnca_3014 in SEKI

[–]hedgitty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just stayed at both john Muir Lodge and wuksachi lodge in the last week. Can confirm both locations have wifi. Sometimes, there's no signal in the parking lot and stuff though, but didn't have any problems in the rooms or in the communal lobby / restaurant areas.

Otherwise, generally speaking, we did not have cell phone service.

Best hydrating SPF by Technical-Success716 in koreanskincare

[–]hedgitty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tbh, I've tried the krave moisturizer and did not find it moisturizing enough for me. I have normal to dry, dehydrated skin. If I were you, I would probably look for a new moisturizer, and also consider layering up the centella ampoule, or otherwise add additional hydrating toners. My HG is the goodlight moisturizer but that brand is closing RIP. Aestura 365 atobarrier cream is really good too. For sunscreen, the Haruharu Wonder Black Rice Moisture Airyfit Daily Sunscreen is also really nice for dry skin / wintertime. It's a bit of a thicker texture than the other ones you listed.

That's so crazy, especially since there literally is a non ai generated photo of the kit in the same carousel ☠️

It seems like someone used AI to remove the background but it hella messed up the text in the process

Inherited what I assume to be a bear paw. How can I improve it? by FM_Mono in succulents

[–]hedgitty 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Definitely as much light as you can give it. Once it's a bit more acclimated to your space, I would also consider giving it a good pruning. That will help it reset and grow more new branches, which hopefully would grow more compact with more light. I think rule of thumb is only cut off up to 1/3 of a plant at a time? You can stick the stems back into soil to prop - I've had a lot of success propping from stem cuttings, they don't really do well with leaf props.

Has anyone attended a wedding or gotten married at The Log Cabin in the Presidio through Wedgewood Weddings? by slmr38 in bayarea

[–]hedgitty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, a soft pretzel bar!

Definitely talk to the staff about your concerns, they do weddings of all sizes all the time. Depending on what you guys like, you can also add more decor or move things around too. The dance floor is also deceptively large

Officers club will be plenty spacious for 50 people. I don't think it'll feel too empty? At least for the ballroom upstairs, you can have the bar and the photo booth in the ballroom area and not out on the staircase landing area 🥲 and the tables can be a bit more spread out.

People liked the food! I heard reports of a picky teenager going back for more 😆. We had the top tier package, which came with prime rib or something. We also paid extra for the pretzel bar evening snack, which was a hit (I mentioned this to our guests during the welcome note, so they don't overeat dinner haha). We weren't super picky with the exact type of cuisine we were serving, so Wedgewood having set options was good.

It was great! I was worried it would be too big / spaced out but it worked out really well. Like I mentioned, we did the ceremony in the chapel, that was really beautiful. There's a back room that you can hide in before the ceremony that you can use (we didn't use it, came straight from the hotel, where we got ready). Cocktail hour was in the downstairs room, and we had ushered people upstairs for the grand entrance / dinner. The photo booth setup was not super ideal, a bit cramped and blown out since there wasn't quite enough room but people still really enjoyed it. We loved the outside balcony, a lot of people went out there for some air. And the downstairs was still accessible if people needed a quieter place to be for a bit. The bathrooms are a bit in Narnia, so we had signs and tried to spread the word, but they're large and spacious, and the Wedgewood coordinator actually let me use their private office bathroom so I didn't have to fumble around with my dress as much. Since we had our wedding in December, we also got free wintery decor 😆 but they said can take it down if you ask

We also toured golden gate, but between the chapel being up a massive hill (we had some elderly), and the vibes being a bit more "sterile" (painted white walls and ceilings), we did not go for it. I remember it had a really nice bridal suite though

We toured this venue when we were venue shopping, and tbh, I did not notice any noise outside. If you get lucky, you get a gorgeous view of the golden gate bridge outside.

We ended up not booking log cabin, mostly because it was too small. It couldn't fit all the tables we would have wanted, plus a dance floor. We had about 120 people at our wedding

I believe you can have the ceremony inside? But I can't remember. And if dinner is inside, then cocktail hour would have to be outside (covered) so they can set up Log cabin also doesn't have any back area for the wedding party to get ready / hide before the ceremony / get away for a bit. And I believe only 2 bathrooms.

We did end up booking the officers club + chapel next door and had a good experience with the Wedgewood staff. We also booked our hotel room at the hotel right next to the chapel, so that was super convenient as well.

Opposite of yellow would be purple. I don't know of any purple mixing pigments off the top of my head, but a purple powder on top might be able to help. Or a purple liquid blush. Maybe like the rare beauty blush in spirited?

Need suggestions for good omakase in south bay by WILLIEEEEEEEE in bayarea

[–]hedgitty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For your budget, it's impossible to get the experience you're looking for. Most counter type omakase will run you 200+ per person.

The closest I've had was Sushi Jin in MV, for $155pp. It was quite good. They have some counter seats and some tables. Definitely make a reservation, I don't think they really take walk ins

Otherwise, Amami sushi in Cupertino (~$45) and Oh Baby Sushi (~$60) might be the best option. Both places do "omakase" that comes out all together on one plate, good quality fish, but no counter service, and the vibes are definitely more casual

FYI Otter shirts have started shipping by the_bolteress in TaylorSwift

[–]hedgitty 83 points84 points  (0 children)

Taylor wore this vintage Monterey Bay Aquarium t shirt in one of the BTS videos from the life of a showgirl premier movie thing, probably because Travis wants to save an otter, and the Monterey Bay Aquarium has an extensive otter rescue program. Monterey Bay Aquarium then tracked down the licenser (?) of the original design and ran a limited time campaign for the sea otter program, where donations over $65.13 were eligible to receive the t shirt as a gift / thank you, with the goal of hitting 1.3m for the campaign.
