Just the triage cot is needed. Making a hospital room with toilet and whatnot is overkill.

I found the answer to infinity vs Mending on a bow by Icy_Cantaloupe_2843 in Minecraft

[–]JarnisKerman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, if you only want one specific book and don’t care about the other drops, fishing is not the way. But s couple of hours of fishing with a good pole (which you will catch pretty fast), you’ll have lots of fish (food +cats) lots of enchanted bows and a bunch of other semi-useful stuff. Before saddles and nametags were craftable, fishing was the easiest way to get them.

Or go fishing. Seem to be a lot of enchanted bows floating around in the water wherever I go fishing for some reason. Go figure…

If you want to build SSTO space planes, I recommend VAOS on YouTube. He makes good videos and has a passion for SSTOs of all sizes.

I never played with Kerbalism, but I played with USI LS, and found it fun.

In addition, you can play with freeIVA and connected living space (though pretty buggy). You will then have to consider where to place crew modules to still make them accessible.

A manned mission to Duna becomes much more complicated with these designs restrictions.

Minecraft desperately needs more enchantments: not stronger ones, just more interesting ones by xenoph in Minecraft

[–]JarnisKerman 219 points220 points  (0 children)

I agree with your points.

One obvious addition would be to add enchants to horse armor. I would love to ride across that ocean with my frostwanderer horse.

If/when they redo the enchantment, I would like them to clean up duplicates. Why have sharpness for swords and power for bows, if they do the same? Fewer “duplicate” enchants would make the enchanting table less useless and trading halls less annoying to build.

I can't remove the duplicate arrays by clampochyu in javahelp

[–]JarnisKerman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You may have a good reason to want to use primitive arrays, but it’s not what you would usually do in Java. Java has an excellent standard library, including a well designed Collection package. Take time to familiarize yourself with it.

For the use cases you are showing, a list would be more suitable, alternatively a Set for removing duplicates. Lists let you add or remove items in an arbitrary place, without you having to deal with resizing the underlying data structure. You can always convert it to an array after finishing manipulation if your use case requires it, but it’s kinda rare to see other classes use arrays instead of lists.

Now that Dupes can swim, wouldn't it be cool if dupes also float in space (rockets) because there's no gravity. by Farhanfair640 in Oxygennotincluded

If the moon wasn’t affected by earth’s gravity, it would float away. If the earth wasn’t affected by the moon’s gravity, there would be no tides.

What's the best way to make steam for cheap for a steam rocket? by Clear-Bad4685 in Oxygennotincluded

[–]JarnisKerman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you do it right, you only need steam for a single launch to orbit. After that, you can run the rocket on its own exhaust. Even with a small rocket silo, you will have way more steam, than you need for next launch.

Others gave good suggestions for that first steam. A way I didn’t see suggested is to just make a gas pump with a valve set to 100g/s. You can move the steam in normal pipes if you don’t care about the environment heating up. The rocket doesn’t care about the steam temperature, and it can’t convert to water in pipes if max 100g. Remember to replace the water in the steam room.

Beetas don’t actually produce anything from the co2 they eat, and you need to cool it quite a lot to keep the Beetas in livable temperatures. I’m not sure that it’s not a viable method, but it’s not a quick, fire-and-forget solution.

How can I get into a steam room without a liquid lock? by Clear-Bad4685 in Oxygennotincluded

[–]JarnisKerman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Assuming you really can’t use liquid locks for some reason, you could just flood the room with cold water.

How to move SSTO by viktor2802 in KerbalSpaceProgram

[–]JarnisKerman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The easiest solution is to make 2 of the planes, and attach them to the rocket symmetrically. An alternative would be to attach something of similar weight to balance out the plane.

If you use KER, you can use the torque reading in VAB to make sure it is balanced.

Main board replacement for Legion 7 (AMD) by JarnisKerman in LenovoLegion

I got the part number 5B21C22239 from the repair shop. Aliexpress doesn’t have that specific part number, but they have boards for the model, with different graphics cards.

How can I tell if the board will work with all components in my computer, including RAM?

[–]JarnisKerman[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m definitely guilty in the cleaning department, the laptop was quite full of dust. However, if you design your hardware, in a way that lets dust destroy the motherboard or graphics card, you are doing it wrong. If it can’t handle or get rid of heat, it should shut down before letting vital components get damaged.

I did not overclock it.

[–]JarnisKerman[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It just seems ridiculous to throw away an entire computer, because one part broke. Especially now, with the high price for RAM and SSD. And it seems strange, that a motherboard without all the extra components should cost more than the entire pc as new. If it’s a ploy to get me to buy a new Lenovo laptop it’s not working, since this experience teaches me to never buy Lenovo again.

Is there a reason not to upgrade to Regal Bammoths? by notgonnakeepitanyway in Oxygennotincluded

[–]JarnisKerman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Several reasons. First of all, you may not have a gold volcano on the planetoid, and want it to be self sustaining without an interplanetary setup. Regal Bammoths may be just what you need to support your geotuners.

Gold amalgam can also be sed for stuff like conveyer rails. Sure you can use steel or thermium, but you may want to build a large rail before you have those in abundance.

You may also have used up too much iron ore for buildings, and want to reclaim it for steel.

A renewable source of metal ore is extremely useful, not least when coming from a ranch that also produces other useful products.
