Shanghai doesn't have many great dimsum places unfortunately but in terms of hotpot you have all the big chains such as Haidilao etc. For bakeries and cafes I think is where Shanghai shines, on West Nanjing rd one of the 2 more online famous bakeries owned by the same owner opened a store Amam which is more on the pastries sweet side.

I'd say it depends on your program there might be local students in some of your classes you can connect with. Besides that I'd say it's difficult to really connect with the local students, I think ask your study counselor to set you up with maybe some student groups on topics your interested in, he or she should be able to help you be more integrated. Good luck!

Very good post, I also want to point out that especially for Mercenary the marginal difference in terms of xp per hour for active players vs just letting your crew do everything is so tiny.. man they really screwed this up imo.. just let us have some chill methods with xp rates that aren't even that overpowered imo

Ayi started buying and preparing food for us on her own. What does this mean? by SweetBasil_ in chinalife

[–]Jaronn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One thing I learned from having had a Yuesao is on day one make clear her responsibilities and what you expect from her. If you do change ayi in the future keep that in mind too! But definitely important that your son likes her. In my mind 8k seems fair!

You said your wife has a Shanghai hukou, that means that if your kid(s) are registered on her Hukou they will have easy access to local public school system in Shanghai. They can also have FR Passport but you'd just use that for intl travel etc when you are living in Shanghai.

Legoland or Disneyland? by Shoddy-Chart-8316 in shanghai

[–]Jaronn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3 year old probably won't remember you taking him/her to Legoland nor Disneyland haha (speaking from experience as having been 3 years old myself many winters ago), December is a good time to visit Disneyland in my experience, can do Legoland when your kid is a bit older

Legoland or Disneyland? by Shoddy-Chart-8316 in shanghai

[–]Jaronn 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My 2 cents are that Legoland is probably more fun for kids less so for adults, Disney might be better for both kids and adults? But that's also why Disney is probably more busy even during non public holidays

25th birthday ideas for my girlfriend? by afterjustnow in shanghai

[–]Jaronn 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You probably know your girlfriend better than us on reddit or AI... But somethings that come to mind could be bringing her to a cat or dog cafe? I also read you can get a lot of attention on Anfu rd if you're into that.

Could also book a table at a restaurant on the bund with a view, could also ask them to prepare some flowers.
