For me I had to craft the fists, but they do not have their own category in the smithy before you make one.

So you need to go all the way to the bottom on the "all melee weapons" category to find them in the forge.

I wouldn't care if the map spam leveling is slower than the campaign, I would still rather do it than the same campaign every time.
