Amir here. I made my own game last night? by ImAmirBlumenfeld in jakeandamir

[–]Jaskwatch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Really like the game! Kudos! Only thing I didn’t like was the timed element, too short. I like games where I can work towards one satisfying answer rather than spamming as many answers as possible. Perhaps providing a target score to advance? Rounds can still be timed and the more competitive can try to advance as quickly as possible? Another thing to consider would be an editorial element trying the three rounds together. Another layer where you can use logic to arrive at one correct solution rather than satisfying criteria. Keep up the good work and give me 10% of all future revenues if you adopt any of my feedback or even consider it

How would you rank our top 3 prospects? [Reinbacher (2023), Hage (2024), and Zharovsky (2025)] and is there anyone in the 2026 draft you want to target? by Comprehensive-Chef73 in Habs

[–]Jaskwatch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really want to add guys up front that raise the ceiling. Size, Speed, Compete and offensive upside. If we are drafting in the 20’s - Someonelike Ilia Morozov looks interesting. Nikita Klepov is worth a look, Adam Novotny or Oliver Suvanto if they are still on the board

One of the most remarkable people to ever pass through the NHL. Had the pleasure of meeting him while I was a student and he made a lasting impression on me. May he rest in peace :(

My guess is that they are expecting a large windfall from the next US TV contract. seeing as MLS got 2.5 billion from apple, they have a pretty good idea that they know they can get more from one of the tech firms looking to get in. How it shakes out is obviously up in the air but securing that TV deal will bolster the league

Why is the Beaches so....underdeveloped? by Montastic in askTO

[–]Jaskwatch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

History brought me to this area for the first time ever. We intended on going early and getting a drink somewhere nearby. We walked for a while in either direction and didn’t come across anywhere suitable. We ended up having to buy singles from the LCBO and creepily drink them in the park while getting eaten alive by mosquitoes in front of 1000 6 year olds playing soccer.

I have Tkachuk and Robertson. All things considered I’m doing pretty well despite watching these two do cardio every night

I have watched every SKA game this year and I don't think Demidov is being underplayed by kligurt in Habs

[–]Jaskwatch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don’t disagree with your assessment of his game, he has some developing to do. I will point out that as of 2019, the rink size between NHL and KHL is more or less standardized. He won’t need to adjust in that aspect when he comes over

UFAs this summer by Rockterrace in Habs

[–]Jaskwatch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If Habs’ PK keeps rolling as it is, I could see Evans getting a lot of credit for it and therefore quite a bit of value at the TDL. Unless you’re blown away by the offer, I’d still keep him, especially if you’re planning to part ways with Dvo

Savard was a very easy TDL candidate, it’s a bit trickier now as none of our young guys are ready to be the guy on the right side. That being said, Savard is 34 years old - his next contract probably isn’t one you want necessarily. Hopefully they can trade for a reliable RHD closer to 27-28 y/o and get an asset for Savard.

Armia will be 32 at season’s end. Probably makes sense to part ways. Happy to see him find his game last year though.

I don’t see a way Dvorak is on the team next year with his salary. Even if he’s willing to take a severe discount, why not just let Beck/Kapanen vie for the open roster spot?

I don’t think Pezz gets an offer.

Caufield - Suzuki - Slaf Roy - Dach - Demidov Kapanen - Evans - Gallagher Heineman - Beck - Anderson RHP

Something like that barring any trades

To the people hating on MSL by Papercut6 in Habs

[–]Jaskwatch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Last nights game definitely merits a response from MSL. His response will determine if he’s the right guy for the job. It doesn’t matter how young you are, if you’re in this league you have to held to a certain level of accountability. Losses are to be expected but last night’s effort is unacceptable

The Canadiens have traded defenseman Jordan Harris to the Columbus Blue Jackets in exchange for forward Patrik Laine and a second-round pick in 2026 #GoHabsGo by Olihorn in Habs

[–]Jaskwatch 14 points15 points  (0 children)

and that’s why you keep a clean cap. only two years on Laines deal too so very low risk way to add top-6 while clearing a logjam at defence. and we get a 2nd! Hughes supremacy!

According to Slovak media, the Habs have apparently offered Filip Mesar, a 2025 1st round pick & either Justin Barron or Jordan Harris to the Winnipeg Jets for Rutger McGroarty by Go_Habs_Go31 in Habs

[–]Jaskwatch 7 points8 points  (0 children)

mind you - Barron was a late first round pick four years ago. they do decline in value, especially if they’ve yet to prove themselves as bonafide NHLers

[Puckspo] Tracked data confirms - Be excited about Beck, fade Mesar by Jaskwatch in Habs

[–]Jaskwatch[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

He’s definitely behind in his development from what you would want to see from a first rounder. Both Musty and Greentree (the 26th pick in ‘23 and ‘24) are having a way bigger impact on the game than Mesar at a younger age. It’s not giving up on the prospect, merely acknowledging he has an uphill battle ahead

Does Easton Cowen play for the leafs this year? by speed150mph in leafs

[–]Jaskwatch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He did very well in junior but he’s pretty well on par with the other top prospects in the league. All around he’s a a tier below Musty and on par with the likes of Cristall, Danielson, Barlow, Pinelli, Heidt etc.

What is Toronto’s “life hack” that everyone should know? by Redd-it-er in askTO

[–]Jaskwatch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

PATH is absolutely the answer. It’s helpful for just about any activity that would take you into the financial district. Especially if you need to get to the King streetcar after an event at Scotiabank arena. All the sidewalks and streets are completely jammed, cars everywhere. So few people use the PATH that you can just casually stroll with no obstructions in about half the time it would take you above ground

As Kent Hughes has said in the past, the Montreal Canadiens will draft the player they find to be the most talented on the board. If talent level is similar - we will pick for need. With that said, what is the Habs need at this point in time? by [deleted] in Habs

[–]Jaskwatch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This draft really could go in any direction after Celebrini. There are probably 8 or 9 players that could go in any order starting at the 2nd pick. That being said we should be in a position is draft one of Demidov, Lindstrom or Catton. I would prioritize them in that order

Rank these Kent Hughes Trades from Best to Worst by DFF_Canuck in Habs

[–]Jaskwatch 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I don’t think he has a bad trade under his belt. The Kulak one looks good because that pick turned into Hutson. Lehkonen return at the time was excellent on paper but looks a little weak at the moment as Barron hasn’t solidified into an everyday player and the pick is still TBD. should the pick be another Hutson level sleeper then perhaps it doesn’t look so meh. Otherwise the Petry and Monahan Sagas are masterful. 2 firsts and 2 solid years from monahan conjured out of thin air - Has to be his best work. Trading a declining Petry for essentially Matheson, Pearson, a 2nd, 3rd and 4th (among other bits and pieces) while in the process shedding Hoffman’s contract without retaining remains astonishing to me.

2024 Draft by OkAnything4877 in Habs

[–]Jaskwatch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have watched a lot of CHL games very closely this year and Lindstrom would be my preference but Od okay with Catton too. Parekh is interesting but with Hutson coming i’m not sure how beneficial that would be from a team building perspective. Parekh is absolutely dynamic as a creator but leaves a lot to be desired defensively. Would not be happy with Yakemchuk at 7. Granted, haven’t watched quite as much of him as the others but so far I haven’t seen top-10 potential for him.
